What time do you go to bed?

Just interested really
chatting to a few friends today was a bit shocked as few said they are up to midnight/1am and then up with the kids 6:30/7am (averaged 6 hours)
my mum said she goes to bed at 10:30 and wakes up at 8!!! (Retired) seems excessive!
I am knackered by 9:30 but up with my baby at 6am (and sometimes in the night!)

1am and up at 8am. Since menopause that's my new sleep pattern. I don't need more now.

Chickenwing2 · 18/08/2023 21:17

I go to bed about 11ish and up at 6. The dog dictates bed time Grin

ShutTheDoorBabe · 18/08/2023 21:46

Last night I went to bed at 6a.m. and got up at 1p.m. for no reason other than becoming nocturnal during the school holidays!

Mysleepisbroken · 18/08/2023 21:52

Sleep around midnight -1am, awake between 6-7, but I'm often awake in the middle of the night, sometimes for a few hours because of my youngest (4 but disabilities). I average 3-7, with 5-6 broken being my norm. I'm knackered 😂

Me and DP both work from home with no set hours, so although it's wonderful, it ruins our sleep patterns. It's normally very late (i.e. early hours) when we go to sleep, then almost lunchtime when we get up. We don't care, it works for us, and we only get the same amount of sleep as every else - just shifted a little bit!

hiding5675687 · 18/08/2023 21:58

I need to get better at always going to bed earlier. Sometimes get too tired to get ready for bed, stay up late and it ruins the next day.

Growlybear83 · 18/08/2023 22:06

I try to go to bed by 1 am and aim to go to sleep by around 2, but it's often quite a bit later. I wake up at about 8 am most days. I try to get six hours sleep if I can but am fine with less.

CremeEggThief · 18/08/2023 22:08

I used to be an extreme night owl in my teens and early twenties, bug now I go to bed anywhere between 10.30-00.30 during the week and 11-2 am at the weekend, although after 00.30 is rare.

I often wake in the night or early, and sometimes read. I get up anywhere between 7 and 9 am on work days (work from.home mostly) and 9 am and 11 am, usually between 9.30 and 10.30, at the weekends or when I'm not at work.

However when I'm abroad on holiday, I'm always up 7.30-9 am, so I suspect my body clock would change to more of a lark, if I ever moved to a hot and sunny country!

lucysmam · 18/08/2023 22:12

Usually around now. No point tonight though - I know I won't sleep because of the pre-chemo steroids & I'll be up shortly for a snack of some sort too, probably cereal.

NatalieH2220 · 18/08/2023 22:24

Aim to be asleep by 11pm but often closer to midnight. Wake at 5/5.30am in the week. 6.30/7am at weekend, whenever the kids wake up.

Letterposter · 18/08/2023 22:38

10:38pm

SlowlyLosing · 18/08/2023 22:46

Usually in bed around midnight, sleep between 12.30 and 1am. Get up 7am during the week and 8ish at weekends.

Dc are SN and I don't get them settled until after 10, can't imagine going to bed straight after them, I want some time without being interrupted every 5 mins.

hiding5675687 · 20/08/2023 15:51

This thread reminded me I must go to bed early

What time do you go to bed?
HaveANiceFuckingDay · 20/08/2023 15:59

In bed 9.30pm latest sun-Fri ( 5.30am get up for start work 6am )

Puffypuffin · 17/09/2023 09:38

10pm, up at 5.45 during the week and about 8 on the weekends. I still try to go to bed at 10 Fri/Sat if we're not out.

Escalateandcreate · 17/09/2023 09:41

9 in bed and read. Lights out 10 or 10.30. Awake half 5/6.

muddyford · 17/09/2023 09:43

9.30 at the moment, read till 10.00. Up at 6.00.

WinterCarlisle · 17/09/2023 09:48

Depends on the time of year. Last winter it was so freaking cold I used to crawl up to bed at about 8.15 and put the electric blanket on. I’d always read or dick about on here until about 9.30 when I’d fall asleep. I’ve never been a massive tv watcher. Busy house though with 3 DC and ALWAYS something going on. I also work PT doing shifts incl nights so often trying to catch up.

But really, I just like going to bed!! 😁

FiveShelties · 17/09/2023 09:48

Bed 11.30 read until midnight. Up around 6.45 to let dog out for a wee, back to bed and up around 8.30. Retired, used to get up at 7am for work.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 17/09/2023 09:59

my mum said she goes to bed at 10:30 and wakes up at 8!!! (Retired) seems excessive!

I'm sort of retired (69) and I sleep about the same. Bedtime varies between 9 and 10 (depending what's on TV and if I'd rather watch that or read). With dark evenings coming I'll prob go to bed 9-9.30 ish and read for an hour.

YapYap2023 · 17/09/2023 10:00

Anywhere between 1.30 and 4.30 ish, up at 8-9, sometimes awake but not out of bed til right before before start work (10).

BearSoFair · 17/09/2023 10:23

Around 10:30, alarm for 5.
If I don't have to be up for work usually stop reading around 11:30 and wake up around 7.

hiding5675687 · 18/09/2023 12:23

Last week I went to bed at 9:30 (get up before 7) and woke up feeling 10 years younger.

AlrightThen · 18/09/2023 12:27

At 20:30, 21:15... or 22:15 but that's a mistake.

NonMiDispiace · 18/09/2023 12:32

I’m 69, retired. I go to bed 8-ish, read or listen to podcasts.
i’ve always been a lark so up by 6am. I really don’t know what people do if they’re still up at midnight, nothing on television interests me!
