What time do you go to bed?

DandDoodlz67 · 18/08/2023 18:39

Just interested really
chatting to a few friends today was a bit shocked as few said they are up to midnight/1am and then up with the kids 6:30/7am (averaged 6 hours)
my mum said she goes to bed at 10:30 and wakes up at 8!!! (Retired) seems excessive!
I am knackered by 9:30 but up with my baby at 6am (and sometimes in the night!)

9.00pm and usually straight to sleep.
Awake anytime 6am - 6.30 am but never ever sleep through.

This is me too!

I've always needed about 9 hours and genuinely can't function on less. It's so frustrating.

If I go to bed at 10-11 then will wake at 7 but never any later.

I'm an early bird

peanutcrumble · 18/08/2023 19:57

I try to go bed for 11pm sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I feel like the evening is the only time the house is quiet (10 dogs household of 6) and I get carried away with whatever I'm watching. Also have two puppies that I try to let out as late as possible so they don't toilet in there crates. I feel dead every morning and that's getting up at 7:30am.

Maryandherlamb · 18/08/2023 20:18

Bed 9.30-10 and asleep by 10.30, up with the kids at 5.30. I find that no matter what time I go to sleep, getting up at 5.30 is always exhausting!

RaraRachael · 18/08/2023 20:20

I usually go to bed 10.30/11.00 and read for about an hour, Meanwhile OH is downstairs watching the programmes he enjoys that I don't. So we usually go to sleep around midnight. I'm retired but still can't sleep in very late. I usually wake around 7.30, bring a coffee back to bed then get up about 9.

AlmostTotallyFake · 18/08/2023 20:25

9pm but my alarm goes off for work at 4.50am.
Annoyingly even if I stay up until 1pm I'm still awake by 6am!

continentallentil · 18/08/2023 20:28

12 to 2

Up between 6 and 7

If anyone has any hot tips on how to persuade my inner teen that I need to
go to bed I would love to hear them. Am constantly tired..

EasilyDistracted77 · 18/08/2023 20:34

I have to get up at 5am, I aim to be in bed by 9 to read until 9.30. I'm aiming for 7 hours sleep, but rarely get that, it's more like 6 hrs 30 on average.

waszup · 18/08/2023 20:46

Bed 10:30ish up by 7 with toddler. Need a good 8 hours if possible!

Iclyn · 18/08/2023 20:50

Bed about 10.15 h 10.30 ish , read for about an hour so lights out around 11.30 . Wake up 6- 7 am.

CoodleMoodle · 18/08/2023 20:50

Pre-DC I was a proper night owl. As a teenager I'd stay awake until some ridiculous hour and not want to get up in the morning... I did change slightly as I grew up but if I didn't have to get up in the morning then I'd stay up until 3am sometimes.

When DD was little and was up a lot in the night and woke up early I was in bed by 9:30pm. I HATED it. When she started sleeping better I made my bedtime 10:30pm and stuck to it for a few years. Then we had DS and went back to shit sleep for awhile, although admittedly not as long as the first time. Forced myself into bed at 9:30pm whilst we got through that.

I always intend to go to bed at 10:30, but I crave my evenings so much that I'll often stay up to 11:30pm, sometimes midnight... I regret it massively the next morning as both DC get up at 7:30am precisely, and therefore so do I!

Jennygosoftly · 18/08/2023 20:52

But then i am up at 5.30.am, 5,00.am in summer.

No kids. We love our sleep and work long hours sometimes, weekday bedtime 10pm and wake up around 6.30am. We would go to bed later on weekends and have a lovely lie in though! I cannot have less than 8h sleep, i would not function properly 😂

thaegumathteth · 18/08/2023 20:55

I usually go upstairs about 1030 but fall asleep about 1-2 and up at 630/7 with kids.

Chewbecca · 18/08/2023 20:56

Bed at 1030-11ish.
Often don’t wake up until about 830.

No small children and not working!

MissDollyMix · 18/08/2023 21:03

Totally depends on whether it’s school holidays or not. During the school holidays (now) then I’ll usually go to bed between 12-1 and up between 8-9 - slept longer last night and didn’t wake up until my alarm went off at 9.30am! I do need my sleep but I really really struggle with going to sleep early. In the term time I try and get to bed between 11-12 and up again at 7am. I’m always tired but if I go to bed before 11 I just lie awake unless I take something (melatonin)

35and3 · 18/08/2023 21:05

Bed at 8/8.30. Asleep by 9, up at 5.30/6 with one year old

Doggymummar · 18/08/2023 21:06

10 usually, up at 8.50

GreyCarpet · 18/08/2023 21:10

When I'm tired.

Not being facetious but sometimes I go at 7.30pm, sometimes 9.30pm, sometimes midnight and sometimes 1am. Not very often later than that though.

I get up at 6 for work but wake anytime from 3.30am onwards regardless of what time I went to bed.

FoodFann · 18/08/2023 21:12

10pm til 5am (when husband wakes me up on his way out, otherwise I’d sleep til 8am).

Ratfinkstinkypink · 18/08/2023 21:14

Not until after midnight as I wait up to do my small person's midnight medications, he has them again at 6am and in between midnight and 6 he will usually need turning at least once. He often wakes between 4 and 5am for the day although the last couple of days he hasn't woken until just before 6am. My Fitbit app says my sleep pattern is that of a hedgehog!

ArabiaSpainRedLime · 18/08/2023 21:14

10-11 but usually can't sleep until about 1am and much later when I've got pms.

Gnomegnomegnome · 18/08/2023 21:16

On work days I sleep 9/10-5 but on weekends I don’t really have a routine.

KittensandPerverts · 18/08/2023 21:16

Work annihilates me so on workdays I've been known to be asleep by 8pm - usually no later than 9.30pm. Up at 6am.

mondaytosunday · 18/08/2023 21:17

Bed about midnight or a bit later, then I read for a bit. Wake up at 7.30ish if not a school day (my daughter has just left now, but will start local course next year).
I'd say I get about 6 1/2 hours of sleep a night and occasionally take a nap mid afternoon to make it up.
