Why did the jury take so long to reach a verdict?

Only just been on the news, haven't heard about her sentence yet but very much doubt she'll leave prison alive. Evil bitch

There was so much evidence to go through.

I mean there was no doubt. As someone on the same job it’s sickening that someone so evil can walk among us. Poor poor parents.

So they're reporting now that they've been given the verdicts on each baby & she was there in court for the first few verdicts read out but wasn't in court today for the final verdicts.
So she's been found guilty on all counts and the jury had already came to its conclusion earlier but the media weren't allowed to report until all counts had verdicts. If I'm understanding it right.

There wasn't any doubt was there! Thank goodness for that.

No, not guilty on 2, and not able to reach a verdict on 4 (all 6 were attempted murder charges).

Guilty of murdering seven wasn't she (reading now!). Awful that they think she kept souvenirs connected to some of the murders.

Huge sympathy to the families of all the children. I hope they find their losses slightly easier to bear now there is a guilty verdict. Or is confirmation that your baby was murdered worse than the not knowing? What a terrible, terrible thing for one human being to do to all these families. I'm so sorry.

Why would she have done these dreadful things? I can't think of a single reason apart from she must just be an evil person.

What would you do now if you were her parent? I can't even imagine.

I cannot believe such evil exists in the world. I wonder what the sentence will be? I hope she never sees life outside bars again.

@teaandtoastwithmarmite I started this thread when it was first reported on the news. I've since seen the other thread that's still ongoing.
Anyway my thoughts are with the families are those poor babies and I can't even begin to imagine the grief they must be feeling.
Lock the bitch up & throw away the key.

It's difficult enough for the families that their babies died but to now know they were murdered & it could have been prevented is incomprehensible.
I couldn't give less of a fuck about her parents.

Her parents have been in court in support of her apparently.

Surely SURELY they cant have spent 18 years raising her to adult hood without realising something was wrong?

How was someone like this allowed to become a nurse?

Oh I know. But perhaps they felt they had no choice BUT to be there. It’s not an excuse but it sounds like Lucy could have some significant MH issues. I’ve just watched the panorama documentary. Horrific events, sad for the victims in all of this!

I would be disgusted honestly and what she has done is evil but if you have raised that person and they have kept their psychopathic traits to themselves all along then how hard would it be to not be there for them? You cannot unlove your own child in the course of a few years. They may believe she is innocent. I feel so sorry for them.

Heartbreaking for all the parents and the child that is left permanently damaged. Pure evil. I hope that time will give some form of healing to all of them. It's completely unimaginable that one person can cause so much pain to so many people. I hope she is never released. I can't get her fathers pained face out of my mind. I am sure they are devastated by their daughters actions and they never really knew what their daughter was capable of. I will pray for lucy's parents as I am sure they are wondering where it all went wrong. No one brings a child up to kill. They will need all the support they can get with the infamy of this. Bless all the mothers who went through labour and 9 months of worry for this to happen. I am so saddened by this case. X

I had a baby under 2 weeks ago he spent the first week and a bit of his life in NICU an hour away from home with me not allowed to stay at the same hospital
the nurses were wonderful but I’d lie if I said I didn’t think about Lucy letby every time I left him to drive home or woke up thinking about him in the middle of the night
these are some of the most vulnerable babies and worried parents and to then have to think about scum like this infiltrating the bloody amazing people making miracles happen everyday makes me feel sick to my stomach
I hope to god someone provides real justice whilst she’s inside she deserves everything I hope is coming to her
