Inspired by another thread. Of all the subjects someone can bring up in conversation what's the one that makes you want to roll your eyes so far back you can see behind your brain?

Light-hearted of course Grin

@SecondClassmyass I need your friend, I wish my friends would talk to me about squirrels instead of their broken lawnmowers and mortgages!

People at work continually talking about the volume of alcohol they consumed at the weekend / on holiday.

Yes. Holidays & food/booze (I am disabled & poor & I have a friend who sends 50+ pics of every holiday he goes on which is about 8/10 a year - just why?)

Sport.

Politics (both national & the village gossip variety)

Tv / 'celebrity' culture (as I dont really watch / pay attention so am totally lost)

Baneofmyexistence · 16/08/2023 13:58

Any kind of diet talk. I give not one shit about your calorie deficit, fasting, ketones etc.

FourTeaFallOut · 16/08/2023 13:59

"Heat pumps
Solar panels
Smart meters"

Oh. Guilty. It is quite compulsive in a really boring way when you first get these. It does, hopefully, fade for most. Sorry.

Dieting
Golf
Australian Rules Football

SecondClassmyass · 16/08/2023 14:02

@Whatsthepoint1234 sorry…our second favourite subject are mortgages, house prices and interest rates 🫣

CheetosCheerios · 16/08/2023 14:02

I have a colleague who talks endlessly about their home improvements, and in minute detail. I know all about their bathroom refit, new garden shed, solar panels, underfloor heating. I wish I didn’t.

monsterflake · 16/08/2023 14:04

Skibidi toilet.
If you have no idea what that is, count your lucky stars you don't know my DS11 who would explain it in great detail.
Same goes for any other nonsense youtube stuff.
Is it obvious I don't talk to many people other than my kids...

FoodFann · 16/08/2023 14:05

A blow by blow account of their office politics

Merapi · 16/08/2023 14:05

Import VAT & Customs Duty invoicing.

How does that grab you as a topic for entertaining discussion? 😂

Jaxhog · 16/08/2023 14:06

Anything that starts:
"I know you're going to find this fascinating..."
"It's a long story, but.."
"when I was X..."
"Let me explain..."

ChaToilLeam · 16/08/2023 14:06

Themselves and their love lives. 🙄

SugarPlumpFairy3 · 16/08/2023 14:19

Another vote for dreams. My body actually has a physical reaction and I just can stop yawning 🙈.

catin8oots · 16/08/2023 14:20

Dreams. Or acid trips.

coxesorangepippin · 16/08/2023 14:20

Their dreams

Or bitching about work

coxesorangepippin · 16/08/2023 14:21

And the minutiae of their baby/toddler routine

I know it's all so new and interesting, but god please can we talk about something else

TokyoSushi · 16/08/2023 14:22

The route here.

Worse still, the route you should have taken in order to get here, and the route you should be taking in order to go home again. Accompanied with discussions of how you should have turned left at the crossroads (which is now a roundabout) beside where the So-and-So factory used to be ("You remember" - er, no I don't), and a selection of maps 30 years old with the new bypass and housing estates drawn on with pencil............zzzzzzzz.
