Look at this massive spider (pic warning)

DS overheard my sudden "Oh My God!" from the bathroom and responded, in a daunted voice, "What did you say Oh My God for, Mum?"

This is what.

(Coin added later, cautiously, with tongs).

I usually decant spiders with a piece of card and a glass but I feel like I need a sturdier kit 😱

Very impressive specimen! I'm trying to get over my fear of spiders, mostly through exposure from gardening. It is slow going! 😁

I hate those ones. We get loads of them around this time of year. I once found one so big its legs wouldn't fit in the glass I was trying to catch it with!

One thing that's really helped me is giving them a girl's name and talking to them reassuringly as I rescue them. 'It's ok Bella, you're safe. Let's pop you outside with your friends!' etc.

I also recommend saving a square shaped plastic container from a pasta salad or something and using craft card rather than flimsy paper. You're feel more distanced, they'll definitely be contained even if they're on the biggish side and the square shape fits nicely into corners in the way a glass doesn't always.

We get lots. I keep telling myself they are good not bad. One night I turned on the light because I heard a tiny padding noise. I expected to see a mouse running about. Nope. T'was a huge spider. It ran up the curtains and I had to pretend it wasn't running about the bedroom even when I could hear the fucker. Anyway, good luck OP 😁
