My dh hasn’t paid the rent ffs

Soo I’ve just had a call from our letting agent went to voicemail as I was on a call and my fucking husband hasn’t paid the rent for the last 2 months….

The bastard is at work and his phone has been switched off

I don’t have the money to pay it all - I did wonder why he had some extra money

We have separate accounts he pays rent etc I pay other bills it all works out fair

I am so bloody angry I daren’t phone the letting agent back and I’m off to check his emails 😡😡😡

I recommend setting up a joint account for bills. Work out your bills for the year in a spreadsheet. Bump it up a bit, divide that number by 12 and then put in half each every month. Then have all your bills go out of that account. That way you can both be on top of things at all times and know what has been paid, plus have the money available for all your bills.

And for the person that replied "why half?". I'm sure they can manage figuring out what proportion each of them should pay. If they earn similar salaries, do half. If they are wildly different, do different shares. It's not rocket science.

If OP was scammed, she might be too embarrassed to update. If it was a misunderstanding, she might be embarrassed or relieved and just gone on with her day. If there's issues with DH, she might be busy tending to those. I just hope for the best outcome for OP and her family, whether we get to hear about it or not.

I have tried to contact the OP this morning to get an update.

I reckon OP has discovered that her DH had paid the rent like normal but she has just given £1000 to an email scammer. Her DH is furious with her for being taken in and she's too embarrassed to come back here and admit the truth. (Or too busy reporting the scammers to the police.)
