My dh hasn’t paid the rent ffs

Soo I’ve just had a call from our letting agent went to voicemail as I was on a call and my fucking husband hasn’t paid the rent for the last 2 months….

The bastard is at work and his phone has been switched off

I don’t have the money to pay it all - I did wonder why he had some extra money

We have separate accounts he pays rent etc I pay other bills it all works out fair

I am so bloody angry I daren’t phone the letting agent back and I’m off to check his emails 😡😡😡

They wouldn't be evicted unless the landlord served a notice and got a PO. A s8 can be defended in court, and if they pay as much as they can then come to an arrangement to pay then they are unlikely to be homeless on those grounds. If the DH has been unwell and therefore forgot to pay then he could present that as being a reason for the non payment.
The landlord could still serve a s21 but that is clearly a different matter.

Oh no, didn’t think of that. If it’s a scam and she gave them ££1500 she might well be in the sh1t - which might be why she hasn’t come back.

Too many women on these boards love to twist any thread into a man hating one.

I would not appreciate dh pestering me continually if I was in back to back meetings at work for something that can so obviously wait/not involving a death or critical injury in the family!

No, but I wouldnt see it as a risk when I have no facts. I'd see it as an admin error of some sort and tell the agent I'd get back to them today/tomorrow when I'd spoken to my dh and probably leave one or two texts asking him to call when free.

I can only assume he knew what he has done if he hasn’t called you . I suggest you kick him out and explain to your landlord you had no idea and from now on you will be paying the rent . You are still at risk as your landlord might want Abu reliable tenant out anyway and I can’t blame them , your best chance is actually speaking with them and explaining .

A - She got scammed and sent them £1k

B - husband has a reasonable explanation for the over sight and she made her self look a tit by throwing a hissy fit about it in a public forum.

C - the husband had in fact paid the rent and it's the agent's error. Meanwhile, op, acting on some of the advice and assumptions on this thread, has accused her husband of a gambling habit or a crack habit, and kicked him out.

Any scam would probably have to be done by a recent ex employee of the estate agents -to have your details in the first place.
