Soo I’ve just had a call from our letting agent went to voicemail as I was on a call and my fucking husband hasn’t paid the rent for the last 2 months….

The bastard is at work and his phone has been switched off

I don’t have the money to pay it all - I did wonder why he had some extra money

We have separate accounts he pays rent etc I pay other bills it all works out fair

I am so bloody angry I daren’t phone the letting agent back and I’m off to check his emails 😡😡😡

I think OP has gone out to buy some mushrooms.

😂

Therealjudgejudy · 10/08/2023 18:22

Hope you got it sorted op

DoorstoManual · 10/08/2023 18:37

I suspect there is something else going on, if this was my post my DH would have been a brain donor, an idiot, the escalation to bastard is quite swift.

Really? You dont think calling him a bastard is justified if he's putting them at risk of eviction?

cooldarkroom · 10/08/2023 18:45

The OP has been hauled over the coals here.
Maybe H has a gambling or other issue..
Anyway I doubt she'll update now

Busubaba · 10/08/2023 12:48

@WunWun what if his job means he cannot contact her at the moment?

He might be a train driver!

This is just ridiculous. Didn't you read the times where she said he was in a Teams meeting?

winterchills · 10/08/2023 18:47

What was the outcome OP?

Really you assume that your DH is at fault immediately? You have that little faith in him?

JudgeAnderson · 10/08/2023 18:49

I would not appreciate dh pestering me continually if I was in back to back meetings at work for something that can so obviously wait/not involving a death or critical injury in the family!

Yes, potentially being made homeless is absolutely no biggie, certainly doesn't warrant pestering a big important man - silly little woman eh?

Justifiably hauled over the coals IMO!

Yes she is, why she’s so drama, well who knows?

GoodChat · 10/08/2023 18:57

@BlastedIce if he's the one who pays the rent and it hasnt been paid and he's been splashing the cash? Yes, probably!

Beautiful3 · 10/08/2023 19:02

What a stressful day. Have you managed to talk with him yet? It wasn't a scam was it? Definitely the letting office?

loislovesstewie · 10/08/2023 19:03

They wouldn't be evicted unless the landlord served a notice and got a PO. A s8 can be defended in court, and if they pay as much as they can then come to an arrangement to pay then they are unlikely to be homeless on those grounds. If the DH has been unwell and therefore forgot to pay then he could present that as being a reason for the non payment.
The landlord could still serve a s21 but that is clearly a different matter.

BlastedIce · 10/08/2023 19:03

You have absolutely no idea of that, OP has said he’s a great husband who has been in hospital a fair amount recently.

So from OPs posts, exactly what makes you think that? One £100 meal? Really?

I’m sorry you clearly have issues with your partner, but NAMALT, mines not and there is nothing to indicate OPs is?

it’s just your ridiculous deduction….

Kinneddar · 10/08/2023 19:04

You're as dramatic as the OP. The rents late, the bailiffs weren't at the door waiting to change thd locks. If her husbands in meetings it's hardly going to go down well with his collesgues/clients/bosses if he leaves to speak to his wife about something that could wait a few hours.

Youre being overly dramatic. They’re at more risk of going homeless from the LL not being able to afford a mortgage rate rise than due to being late on a couple rent payments.

MountainChalet · 10/08/2023 19:11

Did you get it sorted OP?

NewBrightonEel · 10/08/2023 19:12

Hope it's all sorted OP 💐

The bastard still hasn’t called me

Please let us know you're ok, sorting it and you haven't been arrested for your reaction. When he finally got back to you!

SoSo99 · 10/08/2023 19:22

I'm so sorry you're going through this. But just in case...are you certain this isn't a scam (with fake estate agents). I know this is unlikely, but it's worth checking

Changingtides1234 · 10/08/2023 19:26

Hope you got it all sorted and you are all

Hope your DH is ok OP, he’s had a lot of sick leave recently, a month in hospital, presumably other sick leave surrounding that. Employers can be difficult with that type of stuff.

I expect he feels the need to be focused at work to keep on top of his game and not give his employer further cause for concern.

But you ring reception constantly and cause him more drama, that’s the best way to help.
