Soo I’ve just had a call from our letting agent went to voicemail as I was on a call and my fucking husband hasn’t paid the rent for the last 2 months….

The bastard is at work and his phone has been switched off

I don’t have the money to pay it all - I did wonder why he had some extra money

We have separate accounts he pays rent etc I pay other bills it all works out fair

I am so bloody angry I daren’t phone the letting agent back and I’m off to check his emails 😡😡😡

I would be happy receiving the £1000 today plus a plan to pay the remaining outstanding amount.

It's true about the section 8 but most landlords don't want to do this unless really pushed.

It would be so mean of your landlord not to take into account that you're trying to sort it.

I'd be more worried about a potentially bad reference for the next rental property when it's time to move. Demand is so high these days in popular locations, that landlords are almost wanting a kidney or your first born child, so if they have a choice between a potential tenant with an excellent reference or a potential tenant where the reference has mentioned missed payments, the landlord may well chose the former, leaving the OP finding it harder to get the next rental.

Update - ops husband forgot to take the rent money out of the Victorian safe to pay the letting agent.

When I was a landlord I called within 2 days of the rent being late. An oversight that was rectified immediately. Who relies on emails for 2 months

Don't be ridiculous. The man is working, leave him be. This can wait.

l would let your landlord/letting agent know that your husband is at work and you need to wait for him to come home to confirm what has happened and resolve it and you will call them in the morning and get up to date asap.

Then stop calling the receptionist at your husbands work and wait for him to call or come home, I don't expect you will be evicted before he get's home and you speak to him to find out what has happened, maybe he has the money and it is easily resolved.

Also sounds like he's generally good to you and your family and this may be a mistake so would give him the benefit of the doubt before you manage to speak to him and find out what has happened.
