I need 2 pieces of music - one for entering of the coffin and the other for maybe a moment of reflection

Nothing religious
Not modern like Angel Robbie W, etc.
Just simple beautiful music pieces

Any suggestions?

Recomposed by Max Richer, or have a listen to all his music, very beautiful modern classical.

MeinKraft · 08/08/2023 18:06

Mark Knopfler, the wild theme.

AutumnCrow · 08/08/2023 18:06

Have a listen to the theme music for ‘The Life and Times of Lloyd George’.

Can’t link as on phone but will come back to you.

Nimrod (Elgar)

‘The lark ascending’ by Vaughan Williams. Sublime.

DropCloths · 08/08/2023 18:09

Sorry, pressed too soon. The link is to the second movement of Beethoven's 5th piano concerto. It's beautiful and perfect for a moment of reflection.

Spiegel im Spiegel - Arvo Part

Ludovico Einaudi has some beautiful modern classical pieces that would be lovely in this situation. I particularly like The Tree, Luminous and Nuvole Bianche.

Cavatina by Stanley Myers

Ludovico Einaudi, Nuvole Bianche or I Giorni are very beautiful.

I’m very sore for your loss. These are beautiful pieces, that could do for either
The Swan from Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the animals
the Lark Ascending by Vaughn Williams
Nimrod by Edward Elgar

Beethoven's Fidelio 'O Welche Lust' (Prisoners Chorus) is lovely. Some really good suggestions on this thread. Arvo Part very moving too.

Topseyt123 · 08/08/2023 18:26

Another vote for Nimrod by Elgar.

We used it as the entrance music at my Dad's funeral a couple of years ago. Lovely.

My mum always said she wanted March of the Siamese Children from The King and I.
