I need 2 pieces of music - one for entering of the coffin and the other for maybe a moment of reflection

Nothing religious
Not modern like Angel Robbie W, etc.
Just simple beautiful music pieces

Any suggestions?

Pachelbel's canon in D major

This is wedding music for most people.

Ludovico Einaudi, Nuvole Bianche or I Giorni are very beautiful.

I was going to say exactly this! Beautiful

The Ashokan Farewell. Just beautiful.

I was going to suggest this.

@Longingforthesummer you’ve been added to the classics honours committee. I hope you find the perfect tune. So very sorry for your loss.

Another vote for an Einaudi piece

Barber's Adagio for Strings is very beautiful and I second Gabriel's Oboe from The Mission.

So sorry for your loss.
At my dad's funeral, we had Sheep May Safely Graze by Bach, it's such a beautiful piece of music, and I thought it was perfect, gentle but not too funereal.

We had the philharmonic orchestra cover of dancing in the dark for my dad's entrance to the crematorium.

Not likely to be what you are looking for op, and I am sorry for your loss, but if you want an uplifting piece of music to lift your spirits at any time, I would recommend this.

I'm sorry for your loss.

We lost a pupil a few years ago - Debussy's Arabesque No. 1 was chosen for when he arrived at the crematorium.

One of the most beautifully haunting pieces of music I know is called the Lonesome Boatman

Also the theme from Amelie is truly lovely.

Sorry for your loss.

Butterflysunshine01 · 09/08/2023 01:34

John Barry - somewhere in time.
It's a beautiful piece of music.

I used to sing and conduct choirs at weddings and funerals and these were big favourites. I’m so sorry for your loss.
