What time do you change into your PJs?

Or whatever you wear at night?

Tempted to do it now but I like to wait until 7 at least...

And my clothes are comfy enough but unless you are wearing tracksuits and hoodies all the time, your day clothes won't be as comfy as light, loose, drapey PJs. Even the most comfy jeans in the world are still jeans.

The psychological comfiness of getting into them helps too. It's like a winding down.

I remember going to stay with a friend about 10 years ago, and we had finished dinner and were about to watch a film together. She looked a bit awkward for a minute so I was like 'what's up?' and she said 'I was thinking about putting my PJs on, is that weird?' And I just about shouted 'I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING'. And off we scurried Grin And now whenever we stay with each other, we both get our PJs on suitably early with no shame!

QuestionableMouse · 08/08/2023 21:30

As soon as I get home 😁

NancyJoan · 08/08/2023 21:31

At bedtime. Clean teeth, cleanse face, pyjamas on and into bed.

NancyJoan · 08/08/2023 21:33

I don’t wear jeans as they are horribly uncomfortable, and I wear a bra all the time unless I’m in the bath. Far more uncomfortable without one.

IronCandle · 08/08/2023 21:36

I wear comfy clothes in the house but can’t imagine going to bed in something that I’ve been cooking in etc. Wouldn’t they smell of cooking?

SpringIntoChaos · 08/08/2023 21:36

As soon as I get home from work (which is usually around 7-ish and I'm knackered!) I don't wear them for bed though, so it's more 'lounge wear' than 'night wear'. I can't relax properly until I've changed out of my work clothes.

I solve this by sleeping in the nude 😁😂

MrsJBaptiste · 08/08/2023 21:43

Trakkies after the gym (8pm)
Strip off for bed (11pm)

I could not sleep in PJs I've cooked in - eurghh, food odours 🤢

Why do so many MNers buy uncomfortable clothes?

Are you so lacking in imagination, that you can't comprehend that 'work clothes' may not be best suited for lounging around watching a Netflix? My lovely suits certainly wouldn't be 'work worthy' after an evening of sofa surfing, Schitt's Creek and Chardonnay! 🤦‍♀️

PacManMom · 08/08/2023 21:45

Bedtime for me, unless it's winter then it's after dinner I like to be cosy. Grin

Well, are you not able to imagine that not everyone wears suits to work ?

Bonjovispjs · 08/08/2023 21:49

I'm never dressed when I'm at home. In nightshirts all the time.

LunaTheCat · 08/08/2023 21:50

When I am home .. which last night was 7.30 pm … bra off, PJ s on. I sleep naked.
I love my PJ’s! I have many lovely clothes but PJ’s are my favourite!

Sooze2023 · 08/08/2023 21:53

As soon as I get home from work! Can't relax until my work clothes are off.

mondaytosunday · 08/08/2023 21:54

My daughter would come home from school (getting in at 6pm) and change into jammies right away.
I change just before I go to bed, but I wfh so wear pretty comfortable clothes most of the time.

Annalisatheantelope · 08/08/2023 21:55

Normally I will change into pyjama bottoms as soon as I get home and know that I am not going out again. I usually wear a dressing gown over my normal clothes also when it turns colder as house gets bloody freezing.
I prefer pyjamas and lounge wear over normal clothes.

eurochick · 08/08/2023 22:01

Most nights, at bedtime.

If I'm wearing something particularly smart I don't want to sit around in, or I'm pmt bloated and feeling uncomfortable in whatever I have been wearing all day, early evening.

DustyLee123 · 08/08/2023 22:01

After my evening shower/bath.

Jitterybugs · 08/08/2023 22:03

It’s not something I’ve given much thought to till the past week. I live alone and I currently have my daughter’s dog here while they are away on holiday. I love him to bits but I find myself glaring at him if he doesn’t do his final poo of the day on our early evening walk 🤣 By 7pm I love to get the pjs on but if he hasn’t done his business I need to stay clothed to go for another walk at 9 or 10pm. I rarely go to bed before midnight but I do like early evening pjs 🐶🐾

Blowyourowntrumpet · 08/08/2023 22:05

About an hour before bed usually.
Was lunchtime today though, but am recovering from a hysterectomy and also have COVID, so feeling a bit sorry for myself.

As early as possible after work!

I’m with you on this!
Some days I literally am crawling through the front door, highly stressful work and it’s like a debrief (quite literally so to speak!)
Run up stairs, turn the shower on, get fresh lounge/pj’s/night dress (yes I have some lovely old fashioned vintage ones) have shower run downstairs, feed the fur faces while the kettle is boiling.
Then…get my blankie out lie on the sofa and I’m lucky to finish that cuppa because Zzzz, descends. It’s bliss.
Relaxation and sleep are two of the most powerful healing things in life. No matter what medical condition, emotional crisis, mental health crisis, everyone if they can, should have their comfy clobber on and nest down.
Even putting your favourite most comfortable garments on psychologically is like a handhold that can lower your blood pressure and take the burden of you.
Don’t worry about what time of the day it is, if you need to decompress get your slouchy stuff on.

Flounder2022 · 08/08/2023 22:08

Once I know I'm not going out again. Into something comfy. Could be pjs or tracksuit. But I don't wear pjs to bed so I take them off again! 😅

RaininSummer · 08/08/2023 22:14

Never. I just take off clothes and get into bed after teeth etc

SpicyNoodleSoup · 08/08/2023 22:21

Sometimes I don't even take mine off!
I wfh most days so just chuck a jumper over the top. Comfort all the way for me!
