Or whatever you wear at night?

Tempted to do it now but I like to wait until 7 at least...

As soon as is humanly possible..literally.

Brownbearsinthewoods · 08/08/2023 18:42

The minute I walk through the door! I have a drawer full of PJ bottoms and string vests, so on they go with a hoody and I'm sorted for the rest of the day/night!

Cakeandcardio · 08/08/2023 18:43

I always change from outdoor clothes as soon as I'm home (not because of germs, just because they aren't very comfortable). I usually put on pj bottoms and then a t-shirt from my loungewear stuff. So I wouldn't wear them out and about but they aren't pjs. Being comfy at home is a must!

The string vests have given me a mental image of you sitting around like Rab C Nesbitt Grin

Don't wear PJs to bed, but I change into loungewear whilst DS is in the bath/getting ready for bed, so generally 7:30/8. Once he's in bed I know I definitely won't be going anywhere so might as well be comfy.

VinEtFromage · 08/08/2023 18:52

Fortunately I don't often need to wear 'formal/uncomfortable' clothes, so usually leggings/shorts & tshirts/cardi etc. i sleep naked, so peel them off & shower/get in to bed.

I'd like to like PJ's but I find flappy bottoms annoy & prefer leggings

Applescruffle · 08/08/2023 18:55

Depends on what I'm doing in the evening and the time of year. If it's a nice day I might want to sit in the garden until late so I will stay dressed or we might have friends coming over.
But very often it's straight after I put DD to bed at 7pm, tonight will be one of those nights.

cptartapp · 08/08/2023 19:00

Showered and into them between 6-7pm every night. It was 5pm tonight as I was home alone.

SophiaElise · 08/08/2023 19:02

PoseyFlump · 08/08/2023 17:55

As soon as I get home! But I sleep naked so take them off at bedtime. Just for comfort.

shelbaby · 08/08/2023 19:06

In summer often not until bed so maybe 11pm or later. In the autumn/winter or even spring if it's cold then it's as soon as I don't have to go bk out. This cld be as early as 5.30pm.

Decafflatteplease · 08/08/2023 19:07

Into lounge wear as soon as I'm in for the night, so anytime from 4pm to 7pm....make up off, contacts out and hair up, love this little ritual!

Actual pyjamas on after shower at bedtime so around 11pm

Riapia · 08/08/2023 19:08

Why do so many MNers buy uncomfortable clothes?

ManchesterLu · 08/08/2023 19:09

7 is my earliest too. If I felt it was 'socially acceptable' I would probably do it earlier!

I do very occasionally wear them earlier if I have an early bath because I'm cold.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 08/08/2023 19:09

Before bed.

But I do have 'house clothes' that I change into immediately after work.

I don't like my pj smelling like cooking smells from cooking tea!

Imo a lot of outdoor and work clothes are not comfortable to lounge in. Jeans, anything denim really or not elasticated, shirts and obviously bras!

Before bed.

Johnisafckface · 08/08/2023 19:36

If I'm out and about, when i come home I will put on something to lounge around in which is usually joggers and a tank top. Doesn't matter what time it is unless it's after 8. I will wear those til I'm ready to get into bed which is around 8 or 9.

If i'm working from home I will put on my joggers and t-shirt til i'm ready to shower and go to bed which is usually the same time around 8/9.

Imamumgetmeoutofhere · 08/08/2023 19:38

On a non work day around 7pm after we've had dinner. On work days about 9pm as I work till late

UsingChangeofName · 08/08/2023 19:44

Bedtime.
The clue is in the name.

Why do so many MNers buy uncomfortable clothes?

Its not that they're uncomfortable for me but I like to wear things like jeans and fitted clothes. Pjs will always be comfier than those. I wouldn't wear trackie bottoms outside the house unless I was exercising.

Labbingtons · 08/08/2023 20:26

My work clothes are not uncomfortable but they are expensive, often dry clean, and creasable. So I change out if those as soon as I get home, into something soft, comfy and already covered in Labrador hair. I have a bath at 9.30/19, after which it’s pyjama time.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 08/08/2023 20:36

When I get home or at least after eating dinner. Sometimes if it's early I'll put different pjs on for bed if I don't feel fresh. I have way too many 🤪

EvenlyDetermined · 08/08/2023 21:20

Why are people wearing jeans and bras that aren't comfortable though? I wouldn't buy either unless they were comfy for all day wear, unless changing for exercise or old
clothes for gardening.

I'm also one for popping out of the house at any opportunity in the evenings (as is DH), walk, pub, meet friends, exercise, allotment so I can't assume I won't be going out again till after 9ish.

Fifthtimelucky · 08/08/2023 21:22

Bedtime for me. I wouldn't want to get into bed in clothes I had been wearing for a few hours.

Clefable · 08/08/2023 21:23

After dinner, and I wear fresh PJs every night (my one laundry luxury, otherwise I am a slattern).
