How much do you pay for a portion of chips

I just went to a chip shop, and was charged £3.95 for a large portion of chips!

It was 5.80 at the takeaway last night. We didn't bother

Not bad to me where I am its about £5

Bought some three days ago. First time in years and last. £3.70 West Midlands.

Our local one is £3.10, I just checked their menu.

2.30 small 3.60 large Somerset

£2 where I am or £2.50 for a large portion.

£3.50 from my nearest place.
I think that's fairly standard.

£3.50 Yorkshire area

Small is £2 from chippy but £1 in Morrisons or from the van.

Local chippy, medium £3.50 large £4.90, they do a cone of chips but not sure how much that is tbh.

To be fair, even the small is too much for DH and I and we love our chips!

However we are moving soo. To a village that has a visiting chip van here is the price list..... not to bad given it's a rural travelling chippy in the southwest

Affluent area of London. Regular is £4 and plenty for 2 people. Large is £5 and enough for 2-3 people. delicious thick cut freshly cut made on premise chips.

their large cod however is £15! Most people buy the chips only.

We had a takeaway last week, which cost us over £50 for 4 of us. We’re obviously out of touch since we said it used to be the cheap takeaway compared to Chinese etc.

Our really tasty chip shop has Cod and chips (Med) For£11.00 I think the chips are about £3.60 .Really gone up and there was a notice explaining the size has decreased as well!(I think for fish)

Our local award winning chip shop does a small for £2 and large for £4.50. They are really generous with their portions too.

Wow, I guess that's the average price these days !

Our local is £4.40 for a large portion. There are 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 teens and two large portions is more than enough for all of us so it's more reasonable than it sounds!

Just checked our 2 local ones and they are

£4 for small and £5 for large
£3 for small and £4.50 for large

We live by the seaside in NE Scotland. It's £3 for a regular and £4 for a large chips at our favourite place beside the harbour.

Even our local not as nice one is £4 for a large chips.
