SJP, I loved sex in the city back in the day and later the Divorce. I have tried rewatching it recently but can't get into it again as her acting is so awful Confused

Imabitbusyatthemoment · 04/08/2023 18:57

Emma Watson. Absolutely unbearable to watch. The overacting in HP films was torture.
Also agree with PP on Kristen Stewart in Twilight. Her facial expressions were worthy of their own credit.

Aplume · 04/08/2023 19:00

I'm pretty sure that Danny dyer and Shane Ritchie are the same person.

Thebigblueballoon · 04/08/2023 19:02

Disagree about Keira. She gets a hard time because she’s so petite/pretty. She’s been great in a few films

ErrolTheDragon · 04/08/2023 19:04

I've just realised who Emma Watson reminds me of.

Quite a long time ago there was an advert for apples, with small children extolling the virtues of different varieties, ending with the sublime Golden Delicious.

Aquamarine1029 · 04/08/2023 19:04

January Jones and Halle Berry. Both unwatchable.

Clawdy · 04/08/2023 19:04

Saw Hugh Grant many years ago, long before he was famous, at the Royal Exchange in Manchester, in An Inspector Calls. He played the young son and he was brilliant. He is far more versatile than people think - and he was hilarious in Paddington!

AlfietheSchnauzer · 04/08/2023 18:24

He's a fantastic actor! He can do any role beautifully

totally agree. Great actor.

Kristen Stewart gets my vote.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 04/08/2023 19:09

I admit that I struggle to appreciate the acting skills of Cara Delevingne. 😔

DerekFaker · 04/08/2023 19:10

Emma.Watson: manages to be both wooden and OTT

Sarah Paulson. I do not get the.hype about her at all. She seems to have about two facial expressions. She's just Sarah Paulson in everything.

Stephen and Dev from Corrie. OTT pantomine acting. So cringy!

I admit that I struggle to appreciate the acting skills of Cara Delevingne. 😔

And her sister Poppy

There was talk at the time that a lot of Alan Rickmans scenes were cut as he was acting Kevin Costner off the screen and KC was supposed to be the star.

I can totally believe that.

MrsKeats · 04/08/2023 19:14

Laura Dern.
Annoying nepo baby too.

SoYoung · 04/08/2023 19:16

Mark Wahlberg. I think he's truly terrible and can't stand to watch him.

Dombasle · 04/08/2023 19:17

How could i forget? Johnny Depp! He started off well but is now a cringe fest of ham acting and he seems to have shrunk and look very diminutive and seedy.

His character Captain Jack is so bad it's on a par with Robert De Niro's character in Rocky and Bullwinkle.

BrandyandGinger · 04/08/2023 19:19

In fairness to Jason Statham, he never tries to act. He just strides around the place being Jason Statham and he does it very well.
I don't like Jennifer Lopez or Sarah Jessica Parker in comedies where they are being all cutesy and ditsy. It makes me cringe.
I would have said Andie McDowell as well but she was very good in Maid.
My absolute least favourite by a mile is Tom Cruise. He's so smarmy and cocky.

Savemesos · 04/08/2023 19:19

I rather like Hugh Grant.

Agree with Kate Hudson though and Amelia eyebrows wotsherface.

2catsandhappy · 04/08/2023 19:24

For those not loving Keira Knightly, I recall a mumsnetter describing how, in her household, KK is called Ikea Knightly 'cos of her wooden acting.
Helped me get through a film or two.

tt9 · 04/08/2023 19:24

Chanhedforthis · 04/08/2023 17:55

Adam Sandler

you got there before me! always the same, annoying, dumb character... and his voice really grates on me

JohnnyYenSetHimselfOnFireAgain · 04/08/2023 19:24

Jim Parsons. The acting ability of a turnip and as funny as one. Stolen a living that fella. Absolute shite.

tt9 · 04/08/2023 19:27

Baneofmyexistence · 04/08/2023 18:23

Hugh Grant. He is the same person in every film, I think he is just playing himself in every film he does! Keira Knightly is rubbish too but I do love Pride and Prejudice.

have watched the BBC series from the 1990s with Colin firth? now, that's worth watching

Freshair1 · 04/08/2023 19:28

Ryan Reynolds. He plays himself in everything. That's not acting.

MillWood85 · 04/08/2023 19:28

Nicole Kidman. As wooden as her face these days.

I feel really bad with this one but Liam Neeson - the geriatic superhero. Just no.

RenoDakota · 04/08/2023 19:31

Olivia Colman for her acting at awards ceremonies - the faux bashfulness / giddiness.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 04/08/2023 19:31

Gwyneth Paltrow, ugh can’t stand her
Emma Watson, just awful, awful, awful
Bella Thorne, trash

Jennifer Lawrence, wooden

Emilia Clarke, not believable same old facial expression
Rachel McAdams, terrible!
SJP, annoying
Anya Taylor-Joy In Peaky Blinders, brilliant in The Queen's Gambit tho.
Danny Dyer, terrible!
Tom Cruise, absolute idiot
Liam Hemsworth, dull
Alex Pettyfer, terrible
Channing Tatum, same old characters
Ben Affleck, snooze
Benedict Cumberbatch, idiot, really dislike
Orlando Bloom, boring
