Tacky wedding anniversary celebrations? I ordered a floral crown ...too much ?

It's mine and my husband's first anniversary on Thursday.
We are going to the pubs in town with his son and girlfriend and a few of their friends.
We are both 39 and his son is 20 so hopefully we don't feel too ancient.
I've ordered a floral crown to wear and a sash which says "1st wedding anniversary-congratulations"
I've ordered some party poppers too for the pub celebration.
I'm not sure if it's too much or tacky?
I didn't think it was but when I told a friend she laughed.
I've changed my profile pic on Facebook to us on wedding day and he has just done the same (think I followed my lead ) ha ha
Will people think it's ott?

Have you considered hiring one of those planes that writes a message in the sky? You could time it for chucking out time at the pub.

To be honest I think it's a bit shit of you not to get everyone a sash to wear. I can understand you wanting to have the crown just for you because you're queen but really everyone could have a sash.

This for me too. Absolutely not my thing, but it sounds like a bit of harmless fun and your husband is presumably on the same page, so enjoy your day.

(There is a subset of MN which thinks any occasion should be ignored completely once you're past the age of 18 and if you absolutely must mark it, then you may do so only by wearing a slightly more brightly coloured hair shirt.)

It sounds like the equivalent of kids wearing a birthday badge to school. I think it's sweet on the child.

I think it's too much . Perhaps set it up in your house as a banner ? And table decoration for a romantic meal for the 2 of u . But that's just me . You did ask !

Crown and sash you do you, probably think you were a bit 'look at me' but not hurting anyone. However if i was sat in the pub and some twonk started with a horn 🤯 That's too far! Will there be a dove release and fireworks also?

Hmmmm, m’kay. Take it your step-son and his girlfriend understand what is going to occur?

Maybe if your other marriages have only lasted 3 months, there is indeed cause for a celebration involving sash/crown/poppa’s/horn for this one 🤷‍♀️

The sash is tacky. The crown is a bit weird too. But am I to understand you are going out with his son's friends and not your own friends with his son just being included? That in itself is a bit odd.

If it's what makes you happy go for it you don't need validation from randoms. Tbh one year of marriage isn't a land mark and it looks a bit ott and out there.
Still it will give the pub customers something to talk about.
I'm not sure I would have felt comfortable with my dm doing this at any age, hers or mine, awkward to be there comes to mind.
