Also, ‘big-lorry-bring-road-cars’ for a car transporter, which I thought was a very good effort.
Dinosnores (didn’t last long, that. Moved on to all the names of all the dinosaurs, all the time, and an obsessive interest in their private lives. I still twitch faintly at the mention of, as it might be, ‘ankylosaurus’, though the child in question is 39)

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 24/07/2023 18:21

Lot lit - yoghurt
Bit dit - biscuit
Bobbie - a bruise or scratch
Babbies - pennies
Traz - baby walker
Blum blumpz - ambulance

All still in frequent use within the family - son is now 31. Words also now used by grandchildren.

My son, in pushchair, would hold his hand out to strangers and shout 'babbies!' The person would ask 'what's he saying?' and I would reply, he's asking you for money.

DD is 16 now but as a tot used to refer to strawberries as Shobbies. So they have remained Shobbies at home (they'd kill me if I said it out the house).

Likewise, DS who is now 15 was always asking what or why and was watching me cook dinner for DH and I one evening. He said "what cooking?" and I said Carbonara. "Car banana?" was what he heard and told DH I was cooking cars and bananas. It has stuck since.

zeebra · 24/07/2023 19:14
