What words mispronounced by children have become parts of your family's vocabulary?

fasten it forwobs bacwobs = rewind

Cat litter converter - catalytic converter. Since they stink this fits so well!!

Pea - nups - peanut
Mohan (name) - mom mom

'War Buttons ' bread.

'Staffers'. (Ds says I will ask the Staffers for a menu).

Ice a cream

Pins and needles = peoples.

'Mommy has peoples in her toes! Quick, get the doctor!'

This will be so outing if anyone knows my family!

Abblet - used to describe real life programme or film, as opposed to cartoon (I think my kids original came up with it as a weird combo of 'adult' and 'tablet')

Cu-cu-cumber - Cucumber (obviously!)

Oh and also Ds when little adored 'crunchy dancing' . (an afterschool club- country dancing).

Blue attack - blue tack

Hunnybun = hairband. From DD age 2. Used by DH and I in general conversation such as “can you bring one of my hunnybuns downstairs please”.

Also, up until recently our granddaughter would say monut instead of moment. My husband can’t say it any other way now! Hang on a monut!

Oh and also “hoonicorn” for unicorn and “scetti” for spaghetti, both that I picked up as a child and have used lazily ever since. To be fair, ‘hoonicorn’ didn’t have much of a run out until DD came along so I surprised myself with how long lasting that mispronunciation has hung round for.
