When only branded will do

Post-It notes. I've used so many generic Post-It notes that don't even stick the first time round, never mind trying to move and re-stick multiple times. Branded Post-It notes only, from now on. Anything else that just isn't the same when it's the generic offering?

Fairy washing up liquid. Every other brand just runs out too quickly.

LadyKenya · 22/07/2023 13:35

Colmans tartare sauce, for me. Nothing else will do.

Nagado · 22/07/2023 13:52

Bleach.
Hoola Hoops
Jaffa Cakes
Coca cola (I do like a bit of cheap lemonade though)

CurlewKate · 22/07/2023 13:53

Sellotape

RightOnTheEdge · 22/07/2023 13:58

I buy a lot of supermarket own brand but I haven't found any own brands that I like. especially Crunchy Nut Cornflakes.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 22/07/2023 14:00

Heinz Tomato soup.

DramaAlpaca · 22/07/2023 14:00

It has to be Heinz baked beans and Kellogg's cornflakes.

RedPanda2022 · 22/07/2023 14:00

Diet Coke ( vs generic supermarket)
pritt sticks

PurplePrawn · 22/07/2023 14:00

Clarks shoes for my wide footed toddler. Cant get his ridiculous feet into supermarket shoes

HedgesNotFences · 22/07/2023 14:02

Nope. It’s all the same stuff.
It’s not like Tesco have millions if massive factories producing things- they are all made by the same factories producing the brands, just different labels.

NeedToBookAGetaway · 22/07/2023 14:07

I worked in a meat factory years ago
The chicken came along, if wasnt the best looking it went to asda smart price, nicer went to asda normal. The nice plump blood free ones went to the expensive ranges.
All same factory same conveyor belt.

Also had aldi hoops 6pk opened and inside was proper hula hoops

PrincessHoneysuckle · 22/07/2023 14:08

It’s not all the same stuff. SOME things probably are (like the Hula Hoop example) but different stores use different recipes. I remember comparing an M&S chicken pie once with an Aldi one. There was less chicken in the Aldi one for example. Yes, they use the same factories but that doesn’t mean everything is churned out the same.

My can’t replace with generic are:

Sellotape
Elastoplast plasters.

NeverTrustAPoliceman · 22/07/2023 14:20

Heinz baked beans.

WillowtreeHouse · 22/07/2023 14:20

It used to be Heinz baked beans for years until I had Branstons as a substitute and now I wouldn't buy anything else.

Talisin · 22/07/2023 14:27
