So there is the obvious one, pancakes bacon, maple syrup and blueberries.

Then the classics fruit cake and cheese - if you haven’t tried it you really should.

Peanut butter and apples.

What combination of foods that sound like they won’t go together but really do, do you ike?

Allegedly, boiled steak & spaghetti are a good combo for one MNer .

🤣🤣 I have wondered what she has been having the rest of this week .

Katela18 · 22/07/2023 15:31

Macaroni cheese, beans (specifically branston) and Yorkshire puddings....

My husband introduced me to this as it was a childhood favourite of his. I was a nay sayer until I tried it!

So carby but sooooo good!

OooPourUsACupLove · 22/07/2023 15:34

A misunderstanding in a cafe resulted in a bacon butty with guacamole - it was lush!

Also surprisingly good are garlic sausage in a cinnamon and raisin bagel (another mixup - I thought it was an onion bagel), and cheddar cheese and tomato ketchup sandwiches. MMMmmmmm!

Bacon sandwiches with fruited teacakes as the bread. Lovely 😋

Honey and blue cheese is delicious

Stillcountingbeans · 22/07/2023 16:21

Cream cheese (preferably Philly) on salt-and-vinegar rice cakes. The cheese cools the strong tang of the salt-and-vinegar coating.

Cheese and onion crisps with Cadburys dairy milk 🤤

oobladay · 22/07/2023 16:24

Twiglets dipped in hummus or peanut butter - amazing! Used to love a sliced picked onion and tomato sauce sandwich as a kid too.

faffadoodledo · 22/07/2023 16:52

Basically what I'm getting from this thread is you can put bananas, marmite or peanut butter with anything and it'll be fabulous.

And I'm not disagreeing!

Salmon with cheesy potato dauphinois Smile

Cornflakes with hot milk and brown sugar. The cornflakes go soft and almost fizzy, and the milk tastes all cornflake-y.

Usually I like my cornflakes mainly crispy, not soggy, but occasionally I crave the comfort of cornflakes and hot milk.

Mccoy S&V crisps with... mango and passionfruit green tea (Tetleys)

I happened to be having both and once one time and was like... what a lovely flavour combo. Was not expecting that.

When I go to the cinema, I buy a pot of salted popcorn and chocolate magic stars and mix them together. It's lovely! Also works with minstrels

My husband thinks I'm a nutter

Peanut butter and chilli flakes on toast, mature cheddar with hot cross buns/malt loaf/fruit cake/plum loaf, blue cheese on a digestive biscuit, BBQ watermelon and feta, Yorkshire puddings and syrup/greek yoghurt/berries. Also strawberries with balsamic vinegar, black pepper and a light sprinkle of caster sugar.

traintraveller · 22/07/2023 19:22

Banana and tomato with salt.

I’m surprised no one has said peanut butter and marmite on toast yet.

Crunchy peanut butter, marmite and tomato sauce in a sandwich or on toast!

Sausages and marmalade. Game changer

Hmmm aren't there sticky marmalade cocktail sausages you make? I think I've only ever had them once. I'll Google to see if it's false memory 🤣
