It's my birthday next week!. What little luxuries would you ask for if it was your birthday?

It's my birthday next week. My family always ask me what I'd like and I always ask for boring old vouchers.

I think the problem is that I don't really know what's out there as I've never really had the money for luxuries! I'd love an expensive shower gel or shampoo (love coconut/shea/almond/musk/sandalwood type scents rather than fruity). Or a naice shampoo (hair is coloured and very dry since menopause)

I love those rosy tinted moisturisers that make you look dewey....I usually use L'Oréal or Garnier ....is there anything more high end that's amazing?

I fancy trying some Molton Brown....what scents are gorgeous? Or what's L'Occitane like?

I'd love a luxury lip balm....any suggestions?

I'm open to any suggestions of any pampery lovely stuff. Or anything life changing I'm yet to discover....what's on your birthday list?

Thanks in advance 🙂

I would like:
Neom scent to sleep candle.
A new pair of gardening gloves.
Erborian BB cream in nude.
Olverum bath oil.

Babybabybabyy · 20/07/2023 23:00

Olaplex set? I’m going to ask for the purple shampoo one for blonde hair

FlannelandPuce · 20/07/2023 23:05

No 7 face stuff, it really has made a difference to my skin. The Night cream in particular is lovely. My birthday is next week and this is always on my list. Plus nice bubble bath (rather than supermarket own brand!!) and a good book.

Occitane do an almond shower gel. That's luxurious.
I think Molton Brown have a cocoand sandalwood based one.

Maybe a good scented candle. I love St Eval, White company or Oh James for medium priced ones.diptyque if someone is really splashing out on you.

How about a Hundred Stars summer dressing gown? They are lovely - so soft and great designs.

Peter Pauper notebooks are fantastic if you write anything by hand - journals or to do lists.

Glass nail file
OPI envy Nail colours
Rituals shower foam
Antthing from neals yard.

Lyricallie · 20/07/2023 23:25

I love heavenly gingerlily Molton brown both the hand soap and the shower gel. I feel like it lasts for ages too as it lathers up nicely. I actually got a candle subscription for 3 months for my Christmas and that was great, really lovely candles. I’m tempted to get it again for myself as a treat.

Laneige lip masks are lovely and last a long time, they are about of my bed time ritual now and it feels weird if I don't use it

Nuxe Lip Balm and Nuxe Oil are lovely.
Aveda shampoo is amazing - and one smells of almond. JVN leave in conditioner is great too.
And I'd buy a To The Fairest body oil, a Neals Yard Women's Balance set (great for menopause) and have a massage!

Talipesmum · 20/07/2023 23:35

Occitane almond shower oil mentioned above is beautiful.

If you like amber / patchouli / oud / rose scents (thought maybe you might with the sandalwood musky list) there’s a newish Molton Brown shower gel that I absolutely adore - Rose Dunes. The scent is amazing and lasts really well. https://www.moltonbrown.co.uk/store/bath-body/bath-shower-gel/Rose-Dunes-Bath-Shower-Gel/NHB309CR3

I also like their Oud Accord one. But I think the rose one surpassed it for me.

HelpMeUnpickThis · 20/07/2023 23:48

OPI nail colours
Molton brown bath foam - I love ginger or sea foam
Charlotte Tilbury (sp?) face cream or one of the nude lipsticks
Jo Malone candle
New pyjamas
Books / book vouchers
Pedicure or facial
Cooking / household equipment (appreciate that is just me)

Happy forthcoming birthday OP! I have one soon too. These are the sorts of things I'd like...

Hotel Chocolat anything

Books - Jarvis Cocker's, or other music bios, or a lovely edition of a dog-eared favourite classic

A new strap for my guitar, preferably tooled leather

A vintage piece of jewellery, not necessarily expensive

An overnight stay at a lovely hotel with DH (again, not necessarily expensive, there are some brilliant offers on Wowcher/Groupon for example)

A bottle of good single malt

Something pretty from my local art gallery shop - a Pre-Raphaelite sketchbook or a framed print maybe

A lyre harp

Espa products are really nice - they have beautiful shower gels and their salt and oil body scrubs are so luxurious, they make your bathroom smell like a high end spa. They’re my go to for birthday gifts.

TopMog · 22/07/2023 11:51

@CanIbeRio Some lovely things already suggested here 😊 are you near a John Lewis? They stock loads of these brands. You could always get vouchers and then treat yourself to a wee afternoon of shopping and test out colours etc on yourself 😊
