It's my birthday next week!. What little luxuries would you ask for if it was your birthday?

It's my birthday next week. My family always ask me what I'd like and I always ask for boring old vouchers.

I think the problem is that I don't really know what's out there as I've never really had the money for luxuries! I'd love an expensive shower gel or shampoo (love coconut/shea/almond/musk/sandalwood type scents rather than fruity). Or a naice shampoo (hair is coloured and very dry since menopause)

I love those rosy tinted moisturisers that make you look dewey....I usually use L'Oréal or Garnier ....is there anything more high end that's amazing?

I fancy trying some Molton Brown....what scents are gorgeous? Or what's L'Occitane like?

I'd love a luxury lip balm....any suggestions?

I'm open to any suggestions of any pampery lovely stuff. Or anything life changing I'm yet to discover....what's on your birthday list?

Thanks in advance 🙂

Oooh Also agree re Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. The original and the best. There are no others like it. I believe they have a new pink lemonade flavour (it’s not here in Aus yet) but that sounds fabulous!

Fraaahnces · 22/07/2023 13:11

Btw, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 22/07/2023 13:14

I'm feeling like I need to trade my family in - I don't get presents ! 🙂

I would like:
Neom scent to sleep candle.
A new pair of gardening gloves.
Erborian BB cream in nude.
Olverum bath oil.

Sorry to derail...how do I choose the right shade online for the BBC cream? I'm pretty pale with dark hair

thatsnotmylifeitstoocrazy · 22/07/2023 13:30

Rituals stuff is lovely and elemis

AssertiveGertrude · 22/07/2023 13:32

Oh lovely op

what about an essential oil diffuser and some oils

pillow spray

eyebrow powder kit

decent slippers for autumn

FelicityFlops · 22/07/2023 13:38

Molton Brown Temple Tree Shower Gel - scents of Sri Lanka every morning, bliss.
Venn skincare - very expensive, but very effective, although not the shampoo.
Ziegler sloe schnapps - Christmas in a glass.
Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.

Jongleterre · 22/07/2023 13:38

Dior abricot crème for nails and cuticles.

Stressedoutmammy · 22/07/2023 13:39

If you fancy trying new products like that, you could ask for a subscription or monthly box from somewhere like glossy box?

ChocolateHelps · 22/07/2023 13:40

I got fed up a few years ago with not having a clue what I wanted for birthday and Christmas so I started a pintrest board just for me to pin things I want when I see them...getting some great ideas from this thread!

For me, little luxuries are
Neom diffusers
Nuxe oil
Cashmere jumpers
Full body massage
Pedicure
Harris gin (stunningly gorgeous bottle and tastes amazing, quite salty)
Neals Yard hard cream
Liz earle hand wash
Osprey bags - all of them!
Decent in ear Bluetooth headphones - Bose - joined together and bright blue so cam find the buggers!

Jongleterre · 22/07/2023 13:41

Vaseline limited edition gold dust. Alone or over lipstick, it gives a lovely shine without being too glittery.

Jongleterre · 22/07/2023 13:42

Victoria Beckham eyeliner.

Jongleterre · 22/07/2023 13:47

Mats blush in deep throat.

Emmylou22 · 22/07/2023 13:56

I highly recommend the Zoe Bee beauty range. Gorgeous moisturisers and other facial products made ethically and entirely with natural ingredients. My faves are the Aloe and Avocado Cream & Coffee and Clay Scrub. Bit pricey but a proper treat for your face.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 22/07/2023 14:00

Lip balm:

The Elizabeth Arden 8 hour protectant stick spf 15 (the tinted ones) are great imo!

Berry and blush both suit my skin tone (there are two other shades available).

They’re really easy to use, manage to give me bit of colour in 5 seconds, have a subtle/nice smell, are fairly moisturising (not for the super super dry lip days/when they’re already cracked) and contain spf!

I love them. The packaging looks nice (more lipstick than lip balm) as well.

Ooh well I would be looking at posh chocolates suggestions the Mallow tailor, Iain Burnett (the "highland chocolatier") and I would recommend a Google of the guardians notes on chocolate, often many lovely suggestions (but not everyday cost!).

Lovely original jewellery from Silverpickle (https://www.silverpicklejewellery.co.uk/).

Are there any classes you would like to take? Art classes? Cooking classes? Pre kids I did a patisserie course and I have a chocolate making class to take that was a birthday gift.....but could do anything! Local colleges etc often have good options for night classes!

I would love a cinema subscription or even just a few solo trips to cinema complete with snacks (but I am easily pleased 😂).

Have a nice birthday when it comes! 🥳

Love Molton Brown pink peppercorn shower gel - that’s my go to. I also like the nuxe shower oil.

not a fan of l’occitane

neom diffuser oil “sensual” is gorgeous.

love diptyque candles - tuberose is my favourite but also like fig.

Dior lip oils and stick lip gloss are what I tend to give everyone for gifts.

mrssunshinexxx · 22/07/2023 14:18

Bed head shampoo and conditioner
Voucher for facial, pedicure, back massage

MangoMartini · 22/07/2023 14:18

I got Molton Brown set of miniature bubble baths as a gift once and it’s been on my annual Christmas list ever since. So rather than choosing one fragrance, you can make a choice each time you have a bath.

This type of thing -

Sounds to me like you need a couple of really good beauty advent calendars!

GreenNoel94 · 22/07/2023 15:28

These are the things I’d ask my husband for for my birthday or buy myself with vouchers that always make me feel good:
Nuxe body oil
milkshake hair products
charlotte tilbury makeup
ysl primer
Lancôme mascara
Roise M&S silk lingerie
nice set of next loungewear
The Ordinary rose oil and retinol (not expensive but a game changer for aging skin)
breakfast in bed

Twoweeksandcounting · 22/07/2023 15:35

For my birthday, I have asked for some Sol de Janeiro products - they do the (slightly ridiculously named) Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, which is the most delicious smelling moisturiser I have ever encountered, but it’s stupidly expensive and I would never buy it for myself. I got a sample once, the scent is divine, and I think would fit with the kind of fragrance you describe liking.
