I got up to watch the first show of the 5SOS tour in Argentina.

It was amazing, well if you're a fan and I am!
For anyone who doesn't know, they're an Australian boyband, 5 seconds of summer/5SOS.

Shangrilalala · 20/07/2023 03:21

Similar age here @mumlovesvodka - she’s 21. We have flashes of maturity where the lovely ‘real’ her shines through and we start to hope. Great to hear things are looking up for you. Hope it continues!

Chrispackhamspoodle · 20/07/2023 03:22

3am.Someone left the downstairs door open and the dog came up and leapt on me.Now tinnitus is keeping me awake coupled with a headache from work stress.Went to bed at 8pm.last night to stop thinking about work. And now here I am.Dogs in my bed...I'm in the spare room!Mind is whizzing with problems I can't resolve at 3am and ears are ringing.

WalterWitty · 20/07/2023 03:23

Toddler up - claiming not to be ill but they only ever wake in the night when they’re poorly. Great timing as DH goes away today.

I do so love watching Paw Patrol at 3am

HelenaHandbasket84 · 20/07/2023 03:24

Mum died 4 weeks ago and the only way I can relax or sleep at all is to get hammered.

Ragwort · 20/07/2023 03:24

mumloves thanks for the explanation... I live about 20 miles away and think I can hear it now ... is it going round in circles?

Pointypointything · 20/07/2023 03:27

Up with non sleeping sen child. Been awake since midnight. Presumably he'll crash just as it's time for school.

Big hugs to those of you awake in pain and/or worries. The middle of the night is a lonely time

3isthemagicnumberrr · 20/07/2023 03:27

3 year old woke 11 month up old. 3 year old promptly fell fast asleep in bed with DH. Sitting on the sofa watching 11 month old play. Exhausted.

Yep, either training or fuel dumping.... with the world the way it is I can't decide if it's reassuring or worrying!

I was watching Andrew Gold on YouTube... I probably could've fallen asleep tonight but I found it interesting and have now woken myself up too much

PBizzle · 20/07/2023 03:27

I woke up because my cat had brought a mouse in and was 'playing' with it in my bedroom.

Cue a very haphazard, pants-less rescue mission and my current absolutely wide awake state 🤦‍♀️

Notyetthere · 20/07/2023 03:33

My two year old has been battling a temperature for the last couple of days. Just woken up with him shaking with a spiked temperature again. Topped him up with calpol now watching sea beast.

Greengrassoh · 20/07/2023 03:35

I’m naturally a night owl, and having a few weeks off work means I always end up awake at this hour and later. Hate it!

Itsaloadofbollocks · 20/07/2023 03:35

Sitting up with a poorly dog. He gets stressed and starts to cry if he's alone and he won't sleep/settle upstairs.

Damnedidont · 20/07/2023 03:35

Sore skin around an active stoma. Again. Trying to find something interesting on TV to distract myself.

This is why we don't have a cat!

@HelenaHandbasket84 ive just read your other thread and am so sorry for the loss of your lovely mum and for how very tough things are for you right now. I’m hoping that you find the support we all need at times like this.

Redlocks30 · 20/07/2023 03:39

Another one here wide awake. My eyes seem to ping open at 3am and I lie there with my mind going over all the awful things I’ve ever done! Are there any strategies to try to stop this and clear the mind, does anyone know??

LordSalem · 20/07/2023 03:39

DD had her last day at primary (yesterday now I guess) and I’ve been ruminating over her first day (that tiny hand in mine!) and now (still the only kid who came running for a hug) since I finally got to sit down in peace after the party (around 11pm). Feeling angry because her dad wasn’t there, wasn’t there for the first either. She's my only child and I didn’t anticipate feel this conflicted. Cant sleep when I'm angry! She's the only one in her entire year group going on to her specific Grammar school, so there's worry as well.
There should be a knock out pill for parents just now and then 🤯

PenelopeRidesAgain · 20/07/2023 03:39

I'm jjust back in from work and settling down with a cuppa to unwind. I'm on your map along the Severn. Know Gloucestershire pretty well although over the border now a bit! Get our fair share of military helicopters over here but all quiet tonight.

Whereisthesummer · 20/07/2023 03:40

Currently sitting in my 2 yr old room as everytime I leave he screams ‘mammmmmaaaaaaa’ also 8 months pregnant with one kicking me in bladder every 10 mins! Thank god for mums net!!!!

Pinkypie86 · 20/07/2023 03:43

I'm awake and worrying, overthinking, wishing, regretting.
All those thoughts you keep at bay only for them to creep in during the early hours.
Why, do our brains do this?
Hope you all manage to get back to sleep.

Cailin66 · 20/07/2023 03:44

Up because I’m in pain, and can’t sleep. Trying to find the intriguing thread about the woman who discovered her husband was cheating on her with Deena, it was a great distraction from pain last night …

Shangrilalala · 20/07/2023 03:44

@LordSalem two of my DCs were the only ones from their primary who went on to their secondary schoools and they settled in quickly. Sometimes it can be an easier transition, as it really is a fresh start with the chance to make so many new friends.

Same here @Pointypointything with DD who has SEN, wide awake since 1am!! She’s watching Old McDonald had farm on loop on You Tube and I’m tracking @mumlovesvodka military lane on FlightRadar 24 willing it to finally land !!
