Who do you think is the BBC presenter who has been suspended?

I don't have twitter and haven't seen any theories as to who it is, I'm presuming a man due to the figure outline being used in the press:

The person who cannot be named has liked that tweet so maybe he’s indirectly telling everyone that he’s going to take The Sun to court?

BishopRock · 10/07/2023 23:25

Paul Brand on ITV News has said the young person and their parents have been estranged "for several years".

So even more questions about how they've got the young person's bank account and online details to be able to hand them over to a newspaper.

I'm sure the News at Ten report stated that the young person was represented by Harbottle & Lewis. No mention made of who was representing the BBC presenter.

Strangely, two tweets by BBC journos about the lawyers' letter have been liked on twitter by one of the individuals who has been mentioned on socials in conjunction with the allegations. They haven't liked or retweeted anything else linked to the story. Hhmm.

I've watched the reports on both BBC and ITV News at Ten and didn't find any reference to Harbottle & Lewis on either of them. The Telegraph's website says they understand the presenter has hired Harbottle & Lewis to help him preserve his reputation and get his job back.

Legal, illegal, whatever, it's sleazy behaviour from anyone, even if that person wasn't married with kids. Any man that does this, particularly with young people similar age to their own children, is a sleaze that deserves everything they get imo. His career is finished either way, call it retirement or whatever, but what a legacy to a pretty impressive career, for any well known, highly paid BBC presenter.

Well there is also the possibility that he hasn't done anything, of course.

DontBeSillyBridget · 11/07/2023 00:04

@Southeastdweller that's so ballsy to be liking tweets...!!!!!

DontBeSillyBridget · 11/07/2023 00:04

I cannot believe he's actually liking tweets but not making a statement. Flipping heck.

This is something I can’t understand.

especially obtaining statements going back 3 years, which is what would prove that the young person was underage when it all started.

if this person has online banking, they would have had to do the search online themselves to get the old statements and hand them over to their mum.

If they get paper statements, then we would have to asume they’re stored in a shoe box at their mum’s place and that’s how she found them.

The only other possibility I’ve thought of is that the mum and child had a joint account and that’s how the mum could access such old statements.

What nothing at all? No sexual.contact at all with someone who isn't his wife involving payment from him, to the person doing sex work? Completely fabricated? Come on?

At an absolute minimum it's middle aged bloke approaching retirement caught out being someone that pays vulnerable people for sexual contact. So a sleazy punter. At minimum.

MotherNatureisaTERF · 11/07/2023 00:08

Anyone curious about who the BBC presenter is, have a look at their Twitter and their most recent likes...

I wonder if this is a precurser to making a statement?

At this point we don't know whether any payment for anything has taken place. No evidence has been published. All we have is an allegation in the Sun newspaper.

No, that is not "at minimum". The minimum is that the story is entirely false from beginning to end and the alleged behaviour exists only in the parents' minds. The fact the Sun hasn't named the presenter tells us that they don't have the evidence to back up their story.

Wtf

Tighginn · 11/07/2023 00:11

Go through the bbc presenters, they are all very similar, Zoe Ball cheated on Norman endlessly, ryland, cheated on his husband, Vernon cheated on Tess, as did Craig Charles, it is rife.... and all had dependency issue's.

If this is an OnlyFabs thing then the victim has to deny anything happened if they registered under age or don't want their subscribers to disappear.

As a pp said very interesting looking at people's Twitter likes 👀

EnfysPreseli · 11/07/2023 00:39

If the payments to a much younger, troubled young person for providing sexual content element of the story is true - and the presenter is really the person most commonly named - I can't think how someone who is a married, practising Christian and regular chapelgoer, with children of a similar age would justify that given the teachings of their faith. 'Not illegal' is not the same as morally acceptable. Any later in life realisations about sexual orientation, or midlife crises, don't change that.

This shows why the BBC have described this as a “complicated” case. They were under pressure for (apparently) not taking action, but they need to act in accordance with the law, and can hardly start taking into account an individual’s religion, or how closely he seems to follow it. Difficult!

MayThe4th · 11/07/2023 05:28

So because someone has liked tweets on twitter it must be them? Nothing to do with the fact that people have been naming them left right and centre without any evidence?

And why the fuck should they make a statement? They don’t owe anything to anyone least of all the frothing masses.

If they have anything about them they will sue the sun as well as the mother who has clearly been making false allegations. And why was that I wonder? Maybe because she’s bitter about the estrangement from her son. And what a convenient time to do it, almost at the exact same time that Philip Schofield was being dragged all over twitter. It’s a bit like those copycat situations, you know, like when Shanan Matthews’ disappearance was faked in response to the outpouring over Madeleine McCann, and although it’s not the same, it certainly makes for a good copycat situation at a time when. You know it’s going to gain you attention.

ArcticSkewer · 11/07/2023 05:40

It's not Phillip. It's the George Osborne email alleging multiple affairs with teenagers, of which there hasn't been a whisper in the papers.

It was in the Mail, Express, Telegraph, Independent and Sun that I know of.

ArcticSkewer · 11/07/2023 06:16

Oh has it? Ok my mistake. I must have blinked and missed it.

User10486743 · 11/07/2023 06:18

I hope it all come out in the wash soon as I would prefer to hear about Boris's WhatsApps of which there has been hardly any mention.
