The email is childish and involves his kids which is entirely out of order. Further, if there are serious allegations (of non consensual sexual) this isn’t the way to do it. it’s also written in a bizarre faux salacious manner and it’s not something that I find all that interesting.

Non-consensual sex is called "rape" or "sexual assault". Hope that helps.

Interesting article from The Telegraph. Sounds like Georgie boy is using his connections to try and spin it. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/07/07/george-osborne-wedding-police-called-over-malicious-email/

If the police investigation suddenly gets dropped then it will obviously be his kids....even more embarrassing for him

I would assume if the author can get all that info then they're also perfectly capable of covering their tracks.

My moneys on Carrie and Boris 😂

Does anyone else think The Sun have chosen to run the story about the BBC Star tomorrow to try and hide the Osbourne/ teenager story? Dead cat strategy?

LadyWhineglass · 08/07/2023 08:20

I hope the author is Boris Johnson and he sent it after drinking 8 bottles of Margeaux and he forgot to turn his VPN on.

Why would they try to hide the story? I wouldn't think there was much more to say on it til later today when the wedding has or has not happened.

It was far too succinct to be Johnson’s doing. Had he written it it would’ve run to 100 pages and mostly been nonsensical quotes.

It’s hardly a dead cat story - BBC presenter pays vulnerable young girl £££££ for sex pics and she spends the money on crack cocaine.

Exactly! I hope someone live tweets from the pews.

Sweetashunni · 08/07/2023 09:05

Will be interesting to see if it goes ahead!

Hahaha.

No way was it Boris Johnson though. He is a talented writer and would never have come up with such word vomit.

From Twitter:

Something struck me about the punctuation: where a Brit would use an en-dash with spaces around it, all the occurrences in the email text are closed-space em-dashes, typical in US punctuation. So should we read this in an American accent. More Carrie Bradshaw than Aunt Agatha.

IAmNoLady · 08/07/2023 09:45

Whoever wrote the email, it was personal.

It wasn't about his austerity politics. It wasn't the dodgy business things he has been involved in. It was attacking him as a person.

I think it is someone in his inner circle, or who was in his circle at some point. Ex mistress, child, etc.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke.

Or a robot voice.

“And, ummm, you know, this sort of thing doesn’t happen in Peppa Pig World!”

So anyone up for a trip to Bruton this afternoon? Presumably the wedding at 16:30 is the one - https://www.stmarysbruton.org/calendar/month - ref T G

As its a normal parish church I think we could as members of the public get access to witness this beautiful event?

Although maybe putting it at 4:30 is a ruse to put off the press as theres not really long enough to go straight to evenson at 5. They are probably having it at 2 or 3 as is more conventional

lovelywallpaper · 08/07/2023 10:21

evening prayer not evensong!

I do wish those inclined to being sanctimonious fun-killers would buzz off. If you have no interest in gloating, you have no place on this thread. The taking of revenge is as old as time and to deny that or to moralise about it in a priggish, mealy-mouthed way is just really bloody dull and misses the point entirely. Humiliating Osborne/ Rogers acts as a warning to other shaggers.

I do wish that people gloating over poison-pen letters could keep their nastiness to themselves instead of trying to normalise their adolescent behaviour amongst normal, decent people.

Neolara · 08/07/2023 11:08

So do you think the wedding is going ahead?

lovelywallpaper · 08/07/2023 11:19

I would have thought so - all those important people travelling from far and wide, all the security if Cameron/ other big cheeses come. All that preparation. Preesumably the wife to be knew about all or most of this beforehand

I think that's usual in the C of E, isn't it? The wedding can't be a private ceremony in that situation.

Bruton1 · 08/07/2023 13:05

Well I’m lucky enough to live in Bruton 😄

Happy to undertake research on behalf of MN.

You’ll be pleased to know it’s a miserable day here, grey and raining.

I'd suggest heading down there early....I'm betting 3pm..
