Seems like George and Thea are made for each other! What a pair of $$$$s. But Thea should have known that no longer being the mistress meant there was a space to fill.

All a bit odd, I can’t I imagine anyone thinking people like him behave any differently though surely? Also, can’t imagine many of those receiving the email would not have either already known, and been up to similar, or will be shocked. Probably par for the course. And I don’t really get the reference to the priest taking the ceremony being bothered, if the clergy gave a toss about this sort of thing then there wouldn’t have been any of them willing to marry our ‘own dear King’…

I strongly suspect it's a group effort, a bit like the Westminster list of dodgy MPs and probably started as a WhatsApp group (and whoever had access to the wedding guest emails deserves special applause).

Where I'm from (Germany) politicians' private lives are generally left well alone and normally I prefer it that way.

But I lived in the UK during the years of Osborne's austerity and I remember his constant bullying of the poor and the sick, by rhetoric and policy. He seemed to believe that being poor is a moral failing, and conversely that he was a great bloke because he had inherited wealth.

Against this background, I think this email deserves to be very widely read. Osborne is an odious man who deserves to be taken down several pegs, even by means of innuendo.

I couldn't agree more.

Anyone could say that they'd sent the email to all the wedding guests... Doesn't mean they've actually tracked down the email addresses of every last one of them.
My money is one of the teenage kids as well though. And good for them if it was!

I don’t condone the (alleged) behaviour, but I have not clicked on any of the links to it as I don’t want to be a tool in someone else’s act of revenge, even less so as part of the threat to other parties.

Not the way to ensure better standards in public office.

If it's Cummings or some other uninvolved adult, then this is petty and I'm unimpressed with the sender.

But if it's one of Osbourne's children – and it certainly reads like it is – and this stuff is true, then Osbourne absolutely deserves this excoriation.

Why should the people who have suffered from his behaviour for years keep his nasty little secrets for him? Or pretend all is rosy in the garden to cover for him?

Who ever wrote the email must feel very safe from being unveiled.
After all there must be nearly 100 other people it could be, a whole 100 other "close" friends, family or colleagues that hate George Osbourne this much and want to see his little world burn down.
