It certainly was turning up to watch people going in and out of a wedding. That's what the poster did. And as it was a particularly unpleasant famous person she did throw out a couple of comments. Nowhere near as bad as anything he has done.

Which is why watching the white knighting is so very funny.

GardeningIdiot · 09/07/2023 08:07

Then I would gently suggest you need to find better things to do with your life. This is not normal behaviour.

So how would you describe passionately defending a hugely rich man who has decimated provision for vulnerable people from a woman with a camera and a couple of shouted comments?

A man who if a bit of negative public attention bothered him or his partner, could have chosen to wed at a private location. @AgathaSpencerGregson?

Zonder · 09/07/2023 08:10

Exactly @StormShadow
Good point @GardeningIdiot

LadyWhineglass · 09/07/2023 08:15

I would like to gently suggest that some people are trying to get this thread deleted which would be a shame so may I politely ask that we ignore anything we might rise to, report the name-calling posts and keep the conversation civil?

LizzieSiddal · 09/07/2023 08:16

Christ almighty, I’m sure GO didn’t give a flying fuck about one mild comment. He will have heard much worse and has the skin of a rhino anyway.

LizzieSiddal · 09/07/2023 08:16

@LadyWhineglass very good advice!

Which is sad really, you'd think anyone who might give enough of a shit would be hungover now, wouldn't you?

ilovebrie8 · 09/07/2023 08:27

Morning @Bruton1 hope u are well, just ignore the influx of “posters” hilarious…

Bruton1 · 09/07/2023 08:42

@ilovebrie8 all good here in sunny Bruton, thanks 😊. The Tory supporters were out in force last night 🤣

Bruton1 · 09/07/2023 08:47

Also, the vote the Tories out comments are hilarious, like I’d ever have voted them in in the first place 🤣.

Luckily there is a by-election for me coming up very soon, because our local Tory MP resigned recently following cocaine and sexual harassment allegations. We’ve basically not had any representation for the last two years because he’s been checking himself in and out of various private institutions to hide recover. But he’s still been taking the money and claiming expenses.

Oh, interesting. Which way do you think it'll go? I was reading some analysts say it's likely to be Lib Dem because people are so pissed off at David Warburton. And obviously in a byelection that's been caused by MP misbehaviour people are more likely to punish the incumbent party than they are in byelections for other reasons. But otoh that's a big majority!

storminamooncup · 09/07/2023 09:00

This thread is horrible and I'm not a Tory supporter. Just let the couple marry in peace. Their wedding and their politics are separate things.

Bruton1 · 09/07/2023 09:03

@StormShadow, the Lib Dems have always been the second biggest share of the votes around here, so I’m hoping to god they get in, that’s where my vote will be going. It is a big majority the Tories had though, I think if there was only a choice of two options they wouldn’t have a chance in hell, but with the FPTP system who knows? Lots of lifelong Tory voters around here who would (and have) vote for a pig if it was wearing a blue rosette. And will probably be telling themselves that the next one will be better. Interestingly, the literature they’ve been putting through doors is really downplaying the Tory bit, as a friend said yesterday she had to read the whole thing before she found out which party it was from. They’re really trying to keep the whole being a Tory thing on the down low 😂. I didn’t get a chance to read it because when the canvessor knocked on my door I gaily told her I’d rather shit in my hands and clap than vote Tory. She smiled and nodded as she reversed up the path, she took it on the chin, I suspect she’d been hearing similar all day.

Can't really blame them for downplaying the party connection, tactically that's the most sensible thing. I hope Labour have the brains not to campaign and to focus their attentions elsewhere. If only we could have a proper left of centre pact.

grass321 · 09/07/2023 09:11

I'm a Tory voter but that doesn't stop me being appalled if some of the allegations in that email are true. That makes him fair game in my view.

However, the JSO protests are becoming a bit lame. If they wanted publicity, they've done a very good job (I'm excluding the traffic stopping which can't be condoned given some of the consequences). But throwing orange confetti at a wedding really isn't achieving a lot.

Bruton1 · 09/07/2023 09:11

Snoop Dog is having a lie in with me at the moment 😊. So cute yet so piddly 😭.

Aw adorable pic 🥰

LlynTegid · 09/07/2023 09:18

The JSO disruption of a man's wedding, for someone who caused poverty for thousands if not millions, makes more sense than disrupting events where our 90% of people have travelled there by public transport.

LizzieSiddal · 09/07/2023 09:32

That dog is so damn cute!

JonahPog · 09/07/2023 10:30

Hate to break it to you @Bruton1 but George Osborne’s austerity policies were brought in by a coalition government with the Lib Dems

SueVineer · 09/07/2023 10:33

Bruton1 · 09/07/2023 02:01

He’s a revolting man. I don’t give a shite what day it is.

From Official Government Statistics; "It said approximately 335,000 additional deaths had occurred between 2012 and 2019 compared with what had been previously been predicted, and can be attributed to unnecessary austerity measures made by George Osborne, CotE between 2010 and 2015." Osborne responsible for a minimum of 335000 deaths, the single biggest mass killer in British history. Congrats to the newlyweds. https://lordslibrary.parliament.uk/mortality-rates-among-men-and-women-impact-of-austerity/#:~:text=It%20said%20approximately%20335%2C000%20additional,in%20England%2C%20Scotland%20and%20Wales

We live in a democracy where a democratically elected government makes economic policy. If you don’t agree with it you can vote them out.

turning up at their wedding after they have left politics to shout abuse isn’t a political statement. Not even slightly. Just childish nastiness

SueVineer · 09/07/2023 10:38

Ripedoughnutpeaches · 09/07/2023 06:00

This is a totally horrible thread.

Tearing a woman’s appearance on her wedding day to shreds. Describing her as having tits like spaniel’s ears. Turning up to the church to shout abuse at people and their guests and taking photos so everyone can slag them all off.

Fully acknowledge the bride and groom sound awful but so do the OP and the people cheering her on.

Yes, it’s horrifying to realize some of the school bullies don’t actually grow out of it. They just disguise it as something else. Some truly vile individuals are among us.
