I really could not avoid her latest batshit crazy piece in the Daily Mail because excerpts are all over Twitter. Do they really get paid enough for that?

I didn't read it - I saw it and thought 'Ugh, that stupid woman'. She and Samantha Brick are just there to write drivel that gets people all frothed up. Why on Earth anyone pays her to write a column I don't know. I honestly think she is mentally unwell and needs help.

His Twitter feed is truly awful though. Either he's seriously mentally unwell or he is indeed a misogynistic, ageist, nasty piece of humanity.

He really is revolting. She does mean well and is always overly generous and kind but loving and marrying such a nasty man is the worst decision she ever made. It’s his own writing that shows how vile he is, not hers.

I haven’t read anything of hers for years, but thought she was bonkers when I used to read her pieces in the Mail on Sunday. IIRC one of her ‘absolute essentials’ was £50 Jo Malone candles when she was professing to be utterly skint.

Sh apparently lavished money on her family and they promptly dumped her when she went broke.

While she appears to be a very difficult woman, if that’s true (and with Liz J, that’s a big if), morally, I think they should give her the money back now that she needs it.

I didn't know that. I know she was generous with them, because she would talk about what she'd bought.

He really does sound awful though, like a few circles of hell more awful than her.

I don't believe a word she writes about her life, OK, the bare bones of it maybe. The rest is make believe to ensure she stays in print. Bring back Jeremy Kyle, they're made for each other.

Further to my previous comment; I've just read a recent article of hers where she is viewing a £700k house.

I thought she was skint? And being evicted from her rental? Is she really taking on a £700k mortgage at age 64? She makes out she is penniless? I don't get it

I don’t buy the paper associated with her very often at all but in any case I have long given up reading any of the bat shit she writes in the Sunday You magazine.
Her publishing employer needs to kick her rubbish into touch.

I was never sure if it was just relative, and my idea of skint vastly differs to her definition, or if it's deliberate exaggeration in the hope of donations.

I think it's a very big "if" but she strikes me as the type to lavish money on people then laud it over them. I remember her making her sister's death from cancer all about her. She really tore into the rest of the family while they were grieving her loss. I stopped reading her column when they stopped letting people comment on it. Probably also because it was painful to see how she was treating David the baker. Nothing he did was ever good enough.

It's hard to feel sorry for someone who runs up debts they can't afford left, right and centre to sustain the life they think they deserve. I'd love to fill my house with expensive furniture and burn Diptyque candles in every room to create an ambiance... I don't, because my 25k salary can't pay for it. She sees nothing wrong with leaving creditors or lovers out of pocket.

As I say, you can’t always believe her (I’m not convinced the ‘rockstar’ has ever played/ sung a note) but she certainly claims her family cut her off when the lavish gifts stopped.

Of course she also seems to think giving them expensive gifts should have bought their loyalty so maybe they got tired of the strings.

I felt sorry for her the year she thought she'd have to spend Christmas alone (I don't know if she managed to get an invitation in the end) but there was always the risk of her being scathing about her hosts and their living arrangements, I thought. It was little wonder she was lonely and alienated people.
