So I'm basically feeling old and clueless. My daughter is desperate to see her when she comes next year and I have totally missed the window to preregister etc. Even though I know I am behind the curve, can anyone advise me on the best strategy to get tickets now? My best locations are Edinburgh and Cardiff, but could do London or Liverpool if needed. I've read some other threads but I think I'm behind the curve and need to figure out what to do now...

I am in the fight for tickets. Best bet is paying for hospitality. Otherwise waiting for general sale. Chances are 2%

CarpeDiemCarpeDontem · 03/07/2023 23:00

If you didn’t reg for the midnights presale (October) or the reg that was just recently put out, then at the moment you won’t be able to get tickets as there is no general sale. The midnights presale is first, then the prereg but not everyone gets a code for that one so those who don’t will be waitlisted. Resale is going to be your best/only option without any registration..

Twiggywinkle13 · 03/07/2023 23:01

I think that if you haven’t already registered then it’s not going to be an option as you require the registration code to even try and buy tickets. Imagine if they don’t all sell they’d let people register again but I imagine they’re going to sell in minutes (forever hopeful I’ll get one!)

If you have missed the chance to pre register then you have zero chance of getting tickets via ticketmaster. You could chance resale tickets but they'll be very expensive or you could try getting hospitality tickets- again very expensive and some require you to be a member etc.

Don't mean to sound negative but not even everyone who registered will get a code for the sale. If you signed up to the mailing list or bought midnights before Oct 22 you'll get a code for the presale.

SmirnoffIceIsNice · 03/07/2023 23:04

The TS concerts are massively over subscribed so the chances of you getting your hands on a ticket if you haven't pre-registered are virtually nil. They are not going on general sale due to the poor way ticket sales were handled in the US.

Beamur · 03/07/2023 23:04

Ticketmaster website explains the system. Unfortunately even if you had registered in time it still isn't a guarantee of tickets. But if you have registered you will be in the queue for any resold tickets.
It's a bit rubbish if you missed the deadline.

User3253625 · 03/07/2023 23:05

If you didn't pre-register then chances are zero that you can get tickets at market price (maybe only through resellers). I did see a Tiktok from a girl who managed to get hospitality tickets by calling up the stadium directly (Liverpool). If you know people who have memberships or connections with the stadiums then it may be possible.

LadyGreySpillsTheTea · 03/07/2023 23:14

At this stage it will largely be a question of how much (ie how many thousands) you’re prepared to pay for resale tickets on the open market - or hope that you personally know somebody who accidentally ends up with two sets because people are trying for multiple venues. DD has got the midnights presale code, has also registered for every single venue in Europe, and got us to register too — all in the hope that she’ll get just two tickets out of it. If she ends up with more than that she’ll offer them back to the official resale pile. But in spite of all this she realistically knows she might not get any tickets at all, it’s absolute madness.

yesitsuptome · 03/07/2023 23:15

Oh dear. Feel very bad reading your replies, I just woke up to this too late, but I guess it's better to know than to hope for something that's impossible. Thanks everyone. If anyone has ANY leads on hospitality (and I will definitely have a try myself), please please share!

I think the hospitality window has closed too unfortunately. Liverpool got in trouble because they were meant to only sell hospitality tickets to existing club members, but let a lot of tickets get sold in the first day after the dates were announced to anyone who called and joined on the day. They've had to go in line with the other venues since then which means members only can buy the hospitality packages - but judging by the comments from a couple of posters on here who got them, the hospitality tickets are likely to have gone by now. Only exception maybe Wembley as I think they weren't releasing theirs til later.

If you want to try the hospitality route, be prepared that you are looking at £300+++ per ticket. Your best bet is to find the relevant phone numbers online and call and ask direct.

GCWorkNightmare · 03/07/2023 23:26

I registered for Cardiff. If I am lucky and can get an extra couple of seats I’ll let you know, OP.

yesitsuptome · 03/07/2023 23:26

That's helpful, thank you. I really can't believe that I was so clueless that I thought I could just buy a ticket...

no worries.

cocksstrideintheevening · 03/07/2023 23:30

I'm managing expectations with dds. I have registered for the pre sale, they email successful applicants on the 5th as to whether or not you get a code. I'm not feeling hopeful.

They're happy to taygate if we have to.

Winchester100 · 03/07/2023 23:30

my husband works at a hospital where staff sometimes get offered unsold concert tickets.

Last time she toured, we got a heap of free tickets and DD took all her mates.

So this all sounds like complete madness to me!

AllOfThemWitches · 03/07/2023 23:31

Dd also desperate to go, she's registered but imagine 3hrs of Taylor swift when you're not a fan 😬

How does that work? There are waiting lists yet tickets are given away?

Hottytotty · 03/07/2023 23:41

The whole concert ticket sales thing is nuts. I managed to get tickets for Coldplay this summer but then we couldn’t go because of my son’s exams. I actually put a thread up here asking how I could swap them for another date, or even resell them for face value as Ticketmaster wouldn’t let me do this. They seemed to prefer the option of me selling them for a hugely inflated price on Facebook or something 🙄
I ended up selling them on Twickets which only accepts them at face value so it may be worth keeping an eye on that if all else fails, as people’s plans may change nearer the time.
No idea why Ticketmaster wouldn’t authorise the resale at face value though - there were £750 worth of tickets so I was a bit desperate!

Drews · 03/07/2023 23:41

Register for Glastonbury tickets. Strong rumours she'll be headlining because she missed the cancelled festival in 2020. She also has a Glastonbury shaped hole in her tour schedule.

Can you only buy tickets for eg Cardiff if you registered for Cardiff? Anyone know?

skilikeagirl · 03/07/2023 23:56

Twickets in the weeks leading up to the shows is your only hope really if you don’t want to pay hospitality prices. I got a Coldplay Wembley ticket that way but had to try several times as they went so quickly! As others have pointed out you won’t get general sale without the preregistration code (and even then you need to be lucky).

Yes that’s my understanding, registration was by city.

There weren’t waiting lists then, her last tour was 4 albums ago.

RNBrie · 04/07/2023 00:23

Wait and see what pops up on the Ticketmaster resale page. We got Harry Styles tickets this way and it only cost a around a tenner more than the original ticket price. Don't get resale tickets from anywhere else (likely to be fake/a rip off) and don't despair if there's nothing on the ticketmaster resale page. I checked every couple of days and Harry Styles tickets were constantly popping up for sale.
