Not winning the lottery is making me sad.

That’s it really.

I would be content let happy to win a couple million. Obviously the massive 124 millions jackpots are great, but a couple million I’d be happy with that.

How much would you like to win to really make a difference in your life, not just a good splash about for a nicer house and new car, but really change your life?

Since you're the bloke in the picture, should be no issue to immediately post a picture of yourself sticking your tongue out and crossing your eyes. GO!

My grandad used to put the same numbers on every week on a Saturday. One week they came up, all 6, on the midweek draw. That's the closest I'll get I reckon, so I never do it.

Wow, that's incredible! I never thought that could happen.

£5 million would be perfect, I can give some to family and give up work.

I don’t do the lottery because I know I would be irrationally disappointed every time I didn’t win so absolutely zero chance of me winning!

I know what you mean. I fact I get losers rage when I don't win!! I know I'll put a tenner on xmas day but not win then will get annoyed..then play the following week again!! Even 10k would be amazing. Pay off debt and free up some monthly cash

HPandthelastwish · 05/01/2025 10:37

I'm not greedy, £10 mill would do, it would give me £150000 (not including interest) income every year until I reach 100 that would do me quite nicely after buying one of the large seafront houses near me which cost just under £1 mill, I'd move me, DD, DMum, DDad and DBro in with me.

DD is diagnosed autistic and DDad and DBro highly likely and at the moment DParents and DBro live together and likely to do so for the foreseeable.

DMum and I could stop working or at least reduce my hours, I'd do lots of conservation voluntary work, litter picking the local beach and woods, and invest in our local theatre. DD could go to uni and not worry about student debt or having to balance studies, work and autism. When she gets a job she could chose to work hours that suit her to allow her proper downtime.

I remember the first ever lottery draw in the 90s, I was a teenager. My parents bought a lottery ticket, when the draw was on I sat in my bedroom in our council maisonette with my fingers crossed thinking ‘please let us win’ and imagining all the ways our life would be different. I was disappointed then and still bloody am now every time I don’t win!!!!

I am absolutely convinced, 100%, that I'm going to win. All I need is enough to buy a house outright and to retire very comfortably. Are you listening, Universe? 😃

3pointmountain · 19/05/2025 14:08

This is why I stopped playing years ago. I genuinely used to leave work on Friday believing I wouldn't have to go back on Monday and it made me miserable when it didn't happen.

Someone once said to me "what's really stopping you doing all the things you'd do if you won the lottery?" and whilst it's true money would male them easier, there probably aren't many you couldn't do in some shape or form if you applied yourself to them over time.

CottonCandyCrank · 05/06/2025 19:58

Since finding out someone i know won euromillions i have felt massively depressed! I just feel so miserable and know it'll never be me, being able to live a life so financially free! I wish they never went public, its really had a bad effect on me!

People who say money doesn't make you happy, I don't get it! If i had millions and didn't need to work, could buy a house/villa in every area I love to spend time in, do what i enjoy with my days, spend precious time with my kids and not have to send them to school, spend every minute with my other half doing things we enjoy, I'd be the happiest person on the planet! Lack of money is the only issue I have. The fact I cant afford to do the things I want is hard! I'm sick of the disappointment 😞

ssd · 05/06/2025 22:26

The people who say money doesn't make you happy aren't short of it

snowsjoke · 06/06/2025 14:47

I play online as it’s not quite so disappointing when you don’t hear anything - you forget about it. With checking a paper ticket your heart sinks as it becomes quickly clear you’ve wasted your money. I might start doing the premium bonds as at least you have the money left still.

Seemyverysadface · 06/06/2025 14:53

Yes it makes me sad too. I once had 4 numbers…and I won £6, less than the £10 I would’ve won with 3!

Verv · 06/06/2025 15:10

I've only done the lottery about 5 times in my entire life.
I do it so infrequently that I assume that every time i do play, im going to win because SOMETHING must be drawing me to play and therefore its an issue of fate.
Totally irritated when I get absolutely bog all😂

Id be happy and retiring on 10 million.

What's worse is the 'We have news about your lottery ticket' email which arrives while you still can't access online. Then when you can / do, it's £2.60! 😭😭

Haven't entered the lottery for years, but did the Omaze house raffle thing FOUR consecutive times without winning a £multimillion house! What a scam!
I was really looking forward to winning the London house for DD for her birthday as she's in a house share, but it didn't happen.
I'll have to buy her something now 😠

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 06/06/2025 17:17

I often feel like the lottery should be a written application process. I'd be really good at that.

SmellsLikeMiddleAgeSpirit · 06/06/2025 17:19

Well maybe money can't buy happiness, but it sure as hell buys a much better standard of misery!

Bollocks would winning make me unhappy or bankrupt!

tobee · 06/06/2025 17:47

I'm still sad that I still haven't won
