Cringe names you’ve heard people call their partners or children?

One of my friends calls her son “little Lord” .. makes me gag.

I’ve had two female friends called “kitty” and “Pooh bear” as nicknames.

Anybody calling a partner baby makes me cringe myself inside out, some one close to me does this just stopit!

I know someone who calls his wife sweet cheeks. I cringe every time he says it.

I overheard my DH friend on the phone to his wife of 10 years and said "okay babyy, do you need anything from the shoppies? When I get home I want lots of kissy kissies for Georgies."

All in a cutesey baby voice, I nearly threw up.

I had a boyfriend once who told me his ex wife had a nickname of 'Poochycock' for him. He seemed keen for me to carry this name on.

He became an ex very soon after that.

I work with a bloke who calls his wife cheesy tits. No idea why and I'm reasonably certain I don't want to know.

Someone I know was a nursery teacher, and once asked the little kids what their mummies called them.

‘Honeybun’, ‘My little soldier’, ‘sweetie pie’, - etc. but one little girl piped up, ‘You little cow! Mummy calls me ‘You little cow.!’ 😱😥

A Dsis called her dh ‘Warthog’. Said with great affection though!

I have a rule were if I wouldn’t say it in real life then I wouldn't write it as a social media caption. I’ve seen people call their bf/ dh ‘our king’ or ‘my baby daddy’ on sm posts on the likes of birthdays and Father’s Day etc. Makes me cringe, should also note not a chance they’d say these things out loud in person.

Hubby/ Hubbie / Hubs / Hubster are all pretty cringey.

I call my husband by his surname. Sort of affectionate.

I’m so happy to get these off my chests anonymously because obviously I wouldn’t say this in real life: Crotch goblins, little bear / mama bear, bean, Mama (they’re from Hull so not Mediterranean where ‘Mama’ might be a bit more apt)

I call my dd all kinds of names, I never use them in company though so you'd never have to cringe through it. Dolly llama, Sausage pie, chicken pot pie, dollface and on and on. She likes it and is disappointed if I use her actual name 🤷‍♀️

My 6 year old asked me to stop calling him pumpkin last year. Of course I agreed but he then relented a little and has decided I can only call him Pumpkin at Halloween. Fair enough.

I call DP 'babe' when I'm being annoying 😁"Babe. Babe. Babe. Babe." until he cracks. He always answers with "Yes, sugar tits?" It makes us laugh.

I call DH "Toad" because when we first started going out I said he was always such a horny toad. It stuck. Even when we argue I call him Toad.
