I'm finally getting round to ordering a socktopus. As I'm paying for delivery, was wondering if there's anything else I should add to my order.

What are your favourite small products from IKEA that I might want?

Washing up brush with a sucker on the end to stick it to your draining board.

LawksaMercyMissus · 27/06/2023 14:46

Those plastic freezer bags.....and Marabou Daim chocolate bars!

Food clips,
the biscuits with the jam in the centre,
the large food bags

  1. Bevara Sealing Clips (they really work)
  2. Fantastisk paper napkins (cheapest and best deal for paper napkins and good quality)
  3. Glimma unscented Tea lights

Scissors, you can never have enough and tea towels. The washing up gloves at £1.00 are fantastic, I will be stocking up.

I have four of the small blue bags from IKEA. I'm not sure you can still get them but I love them they are so handy.

The big blue bags I use in the car for big shops or in the garden for garden waste.

Those rubbery universal pot lids (the firm ones, not the stretchy ones) - I use them for cooking, and for covering stuff in the fridge. Saves me having to get exactly the right lid each time/means I can use any old bowl.

The ones that are like the big bags, but large handbag sized? No, you can't get them any more, which is a massive pity because I lost the one I had and it was perfect for loads of day to day stuff.

They do have very mini ones now though - change-purse sized which I got for keeping change in the car/giving to the kids for the summer fair etc. just because they're very cute.

Set of three cork mats. We use them to put hot saucepans on in our kitchen.

LittleMrsPretty · 27/06/2023 15:09

Hi love the cheese grater, it’s £5 but comes with lots of different lids so you can grate cheese and store in the same container.

Rinnig sucky end dish brushes.
Istad ziplock bags in all sizes.
Bag sealing clips.
Prickig microwave lid
Mala whiteboard pens if you have a whiteboard.
I have an insulated ikea bag for frozen food, so handy for the supermarket (Frakta cool bag)

BrunchMonster · 27/06/2023 15:25

Sadly a lot of the small things aren't available for delivery. Sometimes Amazon or similar have them but for inflated prices. So I still need to wait for a trip in person.

I need kuggis boxes with lids. And a curtain draw rod. And some place mats. And daim bars. And sharp knives. Teaspoons. House plants. Garden plant pots.

chickabilla · 27/06/2023 15:31

We always buy scissors, bag clips, food bags and soda glasses. Every time. You can also buy socktopus style individual clips, which you can add on to the washing line or we hang on a rail in the airing cupboard.

IKEA sell my favourite houseplant for £2. Two pounds!!

I buy one or two baby plants every time I go (or if anyone else is going, I ask for one) and now I have a small forest of parlour palms in various stages of growth dotted around my house 😁

SittinOnTheDock · 27/06/2023 15:36

Thanks these all sound great!

My favourite small Ikea thing is my tiny frying pan that fits one fried egg, or a two egg omlette, making it perfect for doing a quick lunch. I bought it a while ago and they only seem to have [[https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/vardagen-frying-pan-carbon-steel-00461237/ now which is the right size but way more than I paid (mine is aluminium, I think)

I also got these [[https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/succulent-potted-plant-with-pot-assorted-succulent-20543223/ on my last trip. One of them was dead but the other two are in good health and they all come in mini terracotta pots which are the cutest things ever!

VARDAGEN Frying pan, carbon steel, 13 cm - IKEA

Decent wooden clothes hangers. Pokal glass tumblers - mainly because they always have them in stock and can buy them singly, so when you break one or two, you can just buy a couple more! Butchers hooks - obviously only useful if you have something to hook onto..

ASGIRC · 27/06/2023 15:51

NAPKINS!!! The IKEA napkins are THE best, and they come is so many beautiful colours!!!

I still have one from 20 years ago when I was at uni. Along with a 70p colander that's still in use on a daily basis.

massiveclamps · 27/06/2023 15:57

Their little battery-powered whisk.

dodobookends · 27/06/2023 15:58

Dammit OP, I want to go to Ikea now and it's all your fault.😂

Housekeeperbatcocoa · 27/06/2023 16:16

Sexy action shots of my light 😂
