What are your favourite small items from IKEA?

I'm finally getting round to ordering a socktopus. As I'm paying for delivery, was wondering if there's anything else I should add to my order.

What are your favourite small products from IKEA that I might want?

Sexy action shots of my light 😂

Looks great, you can get some cable cover thingies on Amazon which will get the cord out the way.

I'm in the US and products may vary, but I love the basic, completely indestructible, scrubbing brush. Also the basic plastic cutting boards, and the little veggie steamer with a hook to remove it from the saucepan that I bought a few weekends ago.

The £5 cheese grater with different grater lids. Still going strong 20 years later!

Mintearo7 · 27/06/2023 16:55

Garlic crusher, draw dividers

PlainJanePerfect · 27/06/2023 16:59

Socktopus! And by that I mean we got a second one! 😵‍💫

There are three of us and once the toddler started wearing underpants, one was not enough!

You might just love it that much.

The cheese grater
bag seal clips
the big storage bags for the loft

My slot together i - pad stand, it's great in the kitchen if you need to follow a recipe.

Hot dogs

Dimpa bag which is that massive zip up storage bag, blue bags that are the same size as their yellow bags handy for lots of different things, knives but I am not sure they deliver those. Their toilet brushes, controversial I know on MN. Plastic chopping boards, wooden chopping boards. Those weird food silicon things called Overmatt, we use the small one for cucumbers, the medium for lemons or onions and the large for sour cream or yoghurt lids once opened. Their lock and lock rip off food containers although we have the glass ones with the plastic lids.

We are lucky enough to live relatively close to an Ikea. I forget how much of an effort it is for other people.

We call those ‘food condoms’ in my house Grin

The rechargeable batteries

Deepintheheartofbooks · 27/06/2023 17:23

@WetBandits I couldn't actually remember what they were called and googled Ikea food condoms! Grin

Knittedfairies · 27/06/2023 17:23

I'm rather partial to their ginger biscuits...

Frith2013 · 27/06/2023 17:25

The bags of Daims

LacieLane · 27/06/2023 17:28

The little wooden mobile phone stand. I bought it on a whim ( AS YOU DO...always in IKEA), yet it is so useful for taking clips, chatting on screen etc.

Also for reading from apps when cooking or in our house reading music to play the guitar.

Food no ag clips

Champagneforeveryone · 27/06/2023 18:04

I would say houseplants, but not sure if you can have them delivered.

We're big fans of a Ribba picture frame and have a wide selection of shapes and sizes up the stairs --where I like to imagine they look artfully curated.

My biggest IKEA win however are their cotton napkins. I bought two packs in one of my wanky phases, just to see how we got on with washables. I fully intended to upgrade to worthy middle class linen ones if it all went well, but after two years our originals are still going strong and look almost as good as the day we bought them.

inthenameofpride · 27/06/2023 18:15

The little grey and white kitchen sponges
Mattress protector with towelling top
The black 365 salt and pepper pots
The little washing hooks you can hang from your airer

Moveoverdarlin · 27/06/2023 18:17

Maybe not small, small, but the BERGPALM bedding is really really good. Good quality, looks far more expensive than it is.

ThePoshUns · 27/06/2023 18:24

Food bag clips

ThePoshUns · 27/06/2023 18:25

Roasting tins

LBOCS2 · 27/06/2023 18:32

Roasting tins. Their expensive knives. The metal potato ricer. All their silicone spatulas (they're about £1 each and I use nothing else to cook with). Resealable food bags. Phone stands. Socktopus.

I'm sure there are other things 😁

Oldieandgoldie · 27/06/2023 18:41

Kaviar!
