Save tonight - Eagle Eyed Cherry

AllMyExesWearRolexes · 23/06/2023 19:14

Am i Ever by The Angels just for the chorus where the singer sings "Am I ever gonna see your face again?" and traditionally the audience sings back "No way, get fucked, fuck off"...

Je ne regrette rien by Edith Piaf

I think my mother wants that one. 😃

Queen - Another One Bites The Dust

We had this at a family members funeral recently and it was just so apt - they would have loved it 😊

thaisweetchill · 23/06/2023 19:21

I don't really know but my MIL had 'girls just want to have fun' and that's exactly how she was. It made people smile and remembered her how she should be remembered.

Taytocrisps · 23/06/2023 19:31

I'm torn between an instrumental piece (The Lonesome Boatman) and a pop song (Days sung by Kirsty MacColl).

Vitriolinsanity · 23/06/2023 19:40

Ride of the Vallkeries

I'm coming in to Elton I'm Still Standing

The middle will be Madness version of It Must Be Love

Soopermum1 · 23/06/2023 19:43

The Funeral by Yungblud. Dunno if the priest would allow it and only if my Mum was definitely dead before me. If refers to having a fucked up soul and an STD 😳

If Mum's alive, all the best Catholic hymns to give her comfort.

I want “Sailing” by Christopher Cross but can imagine my sons thinking it’s the song of the same name by Rod Stewart and all the mourners swaying in time, waving their arms in the air!

My sister walked down the aisle to her sultry jazz singer best friend doing It Must be Love with an acoustic guitar accompaniment 😍😍

Hand In My Pocket - Alanis Morisette.

Angels and Airwaves - The Adventure. Very little known but one of my favourite songs of all time

Tom has such an emotive voice. This and Miss you by Blink are my 2 favs from him.
Beautiful.

There She Goes by The Las

Tune

TwigTheWonderKid · 23/06/2023 20:13

I love a good musical so I will be having Love is Here to Stay. George Gershwin wrote the music just before he died and his brother wrote the lyrics afterwards as a tribute to him, so it's not a love song but a song about love enduring after death.

I'll also have Barbara Streisand belting out Don't Rain on My Parade, Daevid Allen singing Dear Friends and I need to choose a Bowie track but can't narrow it down.

Ohhelpicantthinkofaname · 23/06/2023 20:18

“th th th that’s all folks”

I'm not having a funeral at all.

Direct cremation, no attenders, no flowers, no music, nothing.

Why did you feel the need to comment in that case? How strange.

whataballbag · 23/06/2023 20:28

Love all the 'highway to hell'

I lost someone very very special recently, and highway to hell was was played at the walking out part

MerryHen · 23/06/2023 20:30

Oh how funny, I just Google searched and came to this thinking it would be an old one and it's from today!

Has been mentioned already but mine is 'Days' by the Kinks
