What is the benchmark for the worst film you’ve ever seen?

Whenever you get a film that’s been rated poorly, what is the film you say “well it can’t be as bad as xxx”

Ours is Beaster Bunny. Not even my type of film. It’s one of dh’s million dollar movie craps. Except it was so bad he insisted I had to watch some of it, just so I can see how bad it was.

And it was baaaad. Like how on earth did this get released let alone even made bad.

One about a killer wind think Mark Wahlberg was in it

The Garden state

FKATondelayo · 20/06/2023 21:39

I used to work in film acquisitions so I've seen some really bad ones - the worst one ever has never been released and so few people have seen it that it would out me. Had a very respectable well known cast too..

The East with Ellen/Elliot Page is so bad that even a nude scene with Alexander Skaaarrrsssgaaaaard cannot redeem it.

Freddie got fingered - still traumatised about 20 years later!

As in Freddie Krueger???

FKATondelayo · 20/06/2023 21:40

Garden State and Lost in Translation are awful. Agree.

Lost in Translation.

Shocked!!

TomatoSandwiches · 20/06/2023 21:41

A Knight's Tale, it wasn't my choice to see it, went with some girlfriends, fell asleep early on and woke up half way through and left.
I only go to the cinema by myself now.

Buried

I love Ryan Reynolds but this was.... horrendous

I thought it was good. To say he was the only person in it

mrsfollowill · 20/06/2023 21:43

'Deuce Bigalow' - recommended by a friend (who loaned me her VHS cassette!)
Or 'Lost in Translation' - DH fell asleep bored to death - for some reason I thought it was one of those films I must watch as everyone was on about it so I soldiered on to the end! Never again. Royal Tenenbaums was similar in my eyes.

phobiaofsocialmedia · 20/06/2023 21:43

"William and Kate: the movie"

Loved Lost in Translation - why don't people like it, out of interest?

Wasn’t this news recently? Gosh, what was the film… it was superhero stuff, wasn’t it? Superwoman? Supergirl?

I haven't actually seen this one BUT I think it could be a contender - has anyone seen Kill Keith? Stars Keith Chegwin, Tony Blackburn and Russell Grant. It's about a serial killer targeting minor celebrities. Heard Tony Blackburn mention it a couple of weeks ago on his radio show - he gets his head cut off in it. He said it was so bad he couldn't sit through the whole thing. I have to buy the DVD!

This sounds incredible though!

Batman and Robin. Utter drivel. George Clooney was shite.

NellyTimes · 20/06/2023 21:46

Oh and fucking Zoolander. Actually any Ben Stiller film, all dreadful.

peucepetunias · 20/06/2023 21:46

"Dead Ringers". Jeremy Irons in a dual role as identical twin gynecologists. I thought he was better than such trash.

Followed closely by "Bonfire of the Vanities" - as the critics said it was the script that should have been torched.

Chardonnay73 · 20/06/2023 21:47

Well I don’t know what this says about my taste in films but Austin Powers and The Wolf of Wall Street are in my top 10!! 🤦‍♀️

onwardandupwards · 20/06/2023 21:47

Donnie Darko and the kids film Rocky and bullwinkle, cannot decide which one was worse!

Thebigblueballoon · 20/06/2023 21:48

Prometheus was bloody awful, I don’t care what anybody says.

As was Jaws 2, The Little Mermaid 2, Cinderella Story and the new Aladdin.

ladygindiva · 20/06/2023 21:48

Dirty Grandpa. Toe curling cringe. Embarrassed for deNiro.

Titanic 2. But you’re not wrong about Lost In Translation, it’s just I had blocked it out of my memory.

I came here to say this! Absolutely dire. Irredeemably so. 2 hours of my life I'll never get back. At least some of it was so bad it was funny... But it was really and truly utterly AWFUL.

That's 'The Happening'. I actually can't remember much if what happened other than thinking 'is that it? The bloody wind?!'

TomatoSandwiches · 20/06/2023 21:51

I'm a bit disappointed with the lack of Wes Anderson appreciation on this thread but hey ho 😂

Xmasbaby11 · 20/06/2023 21:51

Vanilla Sky

utter shite

I loved Lost in Translation!
