What is the benchmark for the worst film you’ve ever seen?

Whenever you get a film that’s been rated poorly, what is the film you say “well it can’t be as bad as xxx”

Ours is Beaster Bunny. Not even my type of film. It’s one of dh’s million dollar movie craps. Except it was so bad he insisted I had to watch some of it, just so I can see how bad it was.

And it was baaaad. Like how on earth did this get released let alone even made bad.

Spencer.
First film I watched post-covid, wanted to love it.

the shite continuity (sitting in brilliant daylight at 5pm on Christmas Eve in Norfolk, ever changing numberplates), the general crap script…I could go on.

I can’t even think about watching it again. Dude Where’s My Car, however, we regularly watch while drunk.

Top gun Maverick.

SouthernFashionista · 20/06/2023 22:05

Revolutionary Road. Pure drivel.

Noooo! It’s one of my all-time favourite films!

Mine too!

Worst for me is Black Swan though some people love it. Awful.

SomethingNastyInTheGenePool · 20/06/2023 22:05

Meek’s Cutoff. I love a Western and find the pioneers fascinating, but my god that was boring.

Marie2023 · 20/06/2023 22:06

Japanese Story. DH and I watched it nearly 20 years ago and we’re STILL moaning about it 😄.

Purplecatshopaholic · 20/06/2023 22:07

Royal Tenenbaums for me too for older films. More recently, John Wick 26 (or whatever is the most recent!) - just appalling in every level. I love Keanu and Donnie Yen, but couldn’t make it to the end of this pish!

SomethingNastyInTheGenePool · 20/06/2023 22:07

@Marie2023 Do you mean Tokyo Story? My favourite film in the whole world!

BadgeronaMoped · 20/06/2023 22:07

Shark Tale. Van Wilder: Party Liaison.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 20/06/2023 22:07

Love’s Kitchen.

Gordon Ramsey has a cameo role 😖

Death Wish, all of them. But they have some cracking lines and music and just general stupidness. They make me laugh out loud every time.

Can I just say one of the funniest lines I ever heard was from death wish.
In the morgue they said that a women died free basing cocaine when a crack pipe exploded in her face.

Mama mia. I thought they were joking at first.

To be fair though, there are a lot of bad films about, mostly but not exclusively Hollywood.

This was diabolical

Titanic 2. But you’re not wrong about Lost In Translation, it’s just I had blocked it out of my memory.

Titanic 2....?! That passed me by
Failing to see how they could do a sequel

John Wick... utter bilge

Work2live · 20/06/2023 21:30

Sharknado.

This masterpiece? It reminds of Remains of the Day in a lot of ways 🦈

Polar Express. Goes down in family history as the worst film ever and is the acknowledged Gold family benchmark for awful films.

Noooooooo!

Spooce · 20/06/2023 22:09

The Box (Cameron Diaz). Still gives me nightmares to think about!

One about a killer wind think Mark Wahlberg was in it

The Garden state

Kind of like Garden State - despite the presence of Natalie Portman.

Iceicebabies · 20/06/2023 22:10

Boxing Helena!

LOL Brilliant!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 20/06/2023 22:11

Oh The Last Air Bender, how could they take such amazing source material and balls it up so badly!

SomethingNastyInTheGenePool · 20/06/2023 22:11

I quite enjoyed Garden State despite Natty P as the ultimate manic pixie
dreamgirl.

LorraineInSpain · 20/06/2023 22:11

Meet Joe Black has to be up there

riotlady · 20/06/2023 22:11

Nacho Libre. Jack Black is some sort of Mexican wrestler? I couldn’t even finish it

Iceicebabies · 20/06/2023 22:12

onwardandupwards · 20/06/2023 21:47

Donnie Darko and the kids film Rocky and bullwinkle, cannot decide which one was worse!

Donnie Darko - no way! Brilliant film!

PollyCreo · 20/06/2023 22:13

My ex FIL (old boy) used to trundle off to the cinema every week, he loved it. One day he watched The Brothers McMullen (1995?) but thought it was so shit he asked for his money back. He actually complained about the film and demanded a refund 🤣
