That's it really.

Driving me batshit today. It's bad enough most days but for some reason today every thread I have been on is eleventy-billion pages longer than it should be because it's full of people quoting the original post and then adding a tiny comment.

Even worse people quoting the OP, responding to the OP which has moved on by miles.

But mostly people just quoting the OP.

I often quote in order to be able to refer to the post as I respond then I forget to delete it.

Yes yes, I've set myself up to be endlessly quoted, and that's fine, it's being done for amusement value.

I agree, the function shouldn’t exist for the OP. I generally don’t mind if it’s a short OP but the massive ones you have to scroll for just fill up the feed and make it difficult to read. I don’t know why MN seem to make the site so up user friendly

I run an MN sweepstake when that happens (though there's only me playing). How many sentences will the poster write having quoted the whole of a long OP? I never go above 5, and I'm rarely wrong.
