Driving me batshit today. It's bad enough most days but for some reason today every thread I have been on is eleventy-billion pages longer than it should be because it's full of people quoting the original post and then adding a tiny comment.

Even worse people quoting the OP, responding to the OP which has moved on by miles.

But mostly people just quoting the OP.

Agreed! Frantically scrolling through threads to find out why someone is suddenly mad at Helen’s brownies on a post about car insurance is so time consuming

I quite like the piss taking posts when people start laying down the law on how to use a forum. It’s a fairly innocuous response over getting peoples backs up.

Fwiw it’s worth OP I think people tend to do it when the conversation has gone off on a tangent, usually without the OP participating. I don’t mind it as an attempt to steer the conversation back to relevance if what you’re posting is only relevant to that and not the tangent.
