What replies always sticks in your mind from MN?

I’ve seen threads before about what OPs you remember for whatever reason, but thought I’d ask what replies have stuck with you?

Every morning and night when I wash my face I remember a comment on a thread about hot cloth cleansing where someone replied “I’ve been hot cloth cleansing ever since it was called washing your face with a flannel”. Always makes me chortle 😂

OP posts:

"don't give your children grapes!!! They're literally BOMBS of sugar"

😁

Very similar but someone said why give your child grapes you may as well give them haribo

Oooh, that might have been me. It’s a phrase I use

It might have been you. Yours is one of those names I remember from when I was new.

Great expression!

When I got my covid vaccine early due to long term health issues then just before my second dose the thing came out about potential risks of the vaccine and blood clots. I was very pro vaccine but worried. I did go onto have the vaccine 2nd dose and 3rd.

Someone said to me : I bet you wish you hadn't jumped the queue now eh?

Reminds me how fucking vile people can be.

That's awful.

The pandemic didn't really bring out the best in us as a race, did it!

Guineapigwoes · 18/06/2023 20:55

There was a thread where op was mortified cos she was raw feeding her dog and he’d got into next doors with a deer leg in his gob.

Someone said bleeding ell why didn’t you stick to winalot like the rest of us 😂

imagiantwitch · 19/06/2023 00:16

I saw a reply to a relationship post that said 'you deserve to be with someone who thinks you are fucking fantastic', I always think of it

I remember that, but I think the dog was trying to bury it but instead pushed it under the neighbours fence. The neighbours were sitting in their garden at the time and an amputated deer's leg suddenly appeared from under the fence next to them 😂😂

It was an AMA from a masochist. The response was “if you were actually a masochist you’d have posted this on AIBU”.

the masochist begs, hit me, hit me but the sadist says NO!

Guineapigwoes · 20/06/2023 14:48

@WunWun Yes that was it! Brilliant thread! Never knew raw feeding was a thing either (no dogs here, might eat the Guinea Pigs 😀)

Oh, and the poster who replied to a question about a buggy; it was a question she herself had asked three years earlier…

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/mumsnet_classics/752184-hauck-stroller-pound-25-Asda

This had me in hysterics 😂

Brilliant thread by the way!

HarpyValley · 20/06/2023 17:46

The thread where some cocky young bepenised individual rocked up and was all “behold, a man has arrived to solve all your IT woes!”

Some brilliantly quick-witted MNer whose username I’ve sadly forgotten flashed back with “oh thank god you’re here OP, I’ve just been bashing the keyboard with my tits and hoping for the best”.

And YY to 75% of the replies in the Fashion Expectation v Reality (aka Suzi Quattro’s fat nan) thread…every now and then if I need a laugh I read that thread again.

RiseYpres · 20/06/2023 17:51

'Not my circus not my monkeys changed my life.' And I mean that.

I also hope it has influenced my mother somewhat. She is in her late 70s and manages to get manipulated into family dramas. I keep telling her she needs to say to herself 'not my circus, not my monkeys' and walk away. She's getting better at it.

LucyLongbody · 24/07/2023 19:13

Something about Kelly Osbornes jaw being found by Time Team of the future and it being thought to be a prehistoric ploughing tool.
I think the thread or at least the comment was deleted.

LucyLongbody · 24/07/2023 19:14

Oh and another about two women in wheelchairs having a scrap.

Poster comes on and says something like 'Are you in Scotland OP?'

Namechanger1002 · 24/07/2023 19:58

What was the thread about a woman whose son hadn't come home as normal and everyone laid into her saying he was up to no good but it turned out he had been helping someone?
Also another whose son had gone on a bike ride and found a cat in the road not moving so the op went and picked up said cat but it turned out to be a Teddy or something 🤣

LuluGuinea · 26/07/2023 19:15

The people keep having sex in my hedge had some brilliant replies including the OP's response to an enquiry as to whether the sex noises she heard could have been a hedgehog

"I've never heard of a hedgehog asking for a finger up the bum!"

EileenBrysonsTeabags · 26/07/2023 19:35

“I hate you all” on a thread where a bunch of us were all trying to see how many duplo bricks we could fit in our mouths. She’d steamed up the lens of her camera taking a selfie of herself with her mouth stuffed full of them.

Occasionally that post with that photo pops in my mind apropos of nothing and I get an instant shot of joy.

Frazzledmummy123 · 26/07/2023 22:16

One that sticks out was me being told I am "impacting my kids with my haphazard lifestyle because I rent" 🙄.

I remember crying with laughter about a series of bison comments ...I can't remember what it was about though. Anyone remember it?

Not the bison ones but apparently the same poster did the sea serpents threads too

Usernamenotavailabletryanother · 26/07/2023 22:59

The woman who meant to call her unhappy toddler in the GP waiting room with a cheery ‘Come on you whiny tinker’ and instead trilled ‘Come on you tiny wanker’

That or DENTINOX. Bruxeur was my fave.

NorrisToenail · 26/07/2023 23:03

Op had found an old phone and a message that said 'yes, with a wooden spoon' and was asking what could it have possibly been a reply to. A very witty poster replied with 'the dish ran away you say?'
I chuckle every time

BluesandClues · 26/07/2023 23:08

The woman who spray painted a pigeon whilst painting her fence, it was the reply of imagining his mates seeing him post event,

‘Paul is that you?’

Had me laughing for days.

Oh the cat/teddy one reminds me of somebody who had been either doped up on sedating medications, or possibly just drunk (she was vague), and had found a “baby hedgehog” in her house, and had spent all evening petting it, feeding it and caring for it. Woke up in the morning to discover it was actually a tassel that had come off a cushion.
