I’ve seen threads before about what OPs you remember for whatever reason, but thought I’d ask what replies have stuck with you?

Every morning and night when I wash my face I remember a comment on a thread about hot cloth cleansing where someone replied “I’ve been hot cloth cleansing ever since it was called washing your face with a flannel”. Always makes me chortle 😂

OP posts:

A post about :

They may be your best friend or your favourite person but if you watch the way they treat other people and find it wanting one day it will be you.

That's the gist not a direct quote. I thought it was so insightful

What's the "I am Canadian" thread about?

Someone asking for advice about Canada and got shitty with another poster and said they were talking bollocks . I AM CANADIAN was the reply.

"don't give your children grapes!!! They're literally BOMBS of sugar"

😁

Haha I often think about grapes being described as 'just balls of sugar' when I eat them.

Definitely the best one!

I was going to say this one as well. So funny.

DiolchamFawr · 17/06/2023 21:07

Advising a poster not to turn off their garden tap in case a homeless person wanted to drink from it😬

MessyBunt · 17/06/2023 21:08

Not MN but I was on a forum years ago where a pain in the arse of a regular poster liked to go onto any thread where someone was struggling and dig the boot in.

In particular, threads when it came to difficulties due to children with additional needs and the impact it had on the parents/family.

Can’t remember the exact comment but it was something like a response to a woman who had a child with extensive special needs and was demonstrating especially difficult behaviors and this poster said something along the lines of “I’d never let myself get into a situation where my now 6-month old rules the roost like this”.

The response that shut her up was “I hope things always remain so good for you”.

I can't remember the exact quote but something about about 'If you were truly a sadomasocist you'd have posted on AIBU'

It was an AMA from a masochist. The response was “if you were actually a masochist you’d have posted this on AIBU”.

ODFOx · 17/06/2023 21:16

'My Yoni says Noni'

DontBePassiveAggresive · 17/06/2023 21:16

I remember crying with laughter about a series of bison comments ...I can't remember what it was about though. Anyone remember it?

I AM CANADIAN.

I miss @stewiwgriffinsmum

Oh this is one of my favourites, I loved that thread

ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees · 17/06/2023 21:48

There was a lady trying to find a specific pair of shoes and posters were giving good examples and suggestions and she kept responding as to why they weren't right and wouldn't fit.

Can't remember the poster but after multiple posts someone replied Ok, Calm down Cinderella!" or words to that affect. Love that type of humour.

MeinKraft · 17/06/2023 22:45

'Haha I often think about grapes being described as 'just balls of sugar' when I eat them.'

Rice Krispies are 'puffs of air' in this house thanks to MN Grin

WunWun · 17/06/2023 22:47

I forget what the thread was about, but a poster replied with a story about something that involved a time when she was "just defrosting some peas". Everyone asked her what possible reason their could be to defrost peas, but she never responded. Why did she defrost them?! 😢

Azerothi · 17/06/2023 22:49

Suzi Quattro's fat nan.

The whole thread.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 17/06/2023 22:51

@Azerothi has just beat me to it with Suzi Quattro’s fat Nan. And other corkers on that thread, including Colonel Gaddafi.

Oh, and the poster who replied to a question about a buggy; it was a question she herself had asked three years earlier…

That was funny! I remember that too.

Me too 😁

How strange to see all the old usernames. It makes me nostalgic!

AsCloggedAsADysonFilter · 17/06/2023 23:03

The person I remember the most on here is biscuitsandbandages. 💔Such a brave woman.

coodawoodashooda · 17/06/2023 23:27

The poster whose husband tipped the hairdresser with a home cooked steak. I laughed for days about that.

AnneLovesGilbert · 17/06/2023 23:34

Some of these are brilliant 😂

For me it was the kindness I got from the nicest bunch of women ever when I was having my miscarriages. Some of them have become friends of many years now and it’s meant more than I can say.

FictionalCharacter · 17/06/2023 23:53

Ermagerd, the Quern and Err nerr, call nern nern nern. Had me howling. It was ages ago and the whole thread got deleted, but it was so funny.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 18/06/2023 09:00

I can't remember exactly what was typed, but the OP had an epic typo along the lines of she got so angry she farted. The thread got completely derailed. It was hilarious.

ProfessorXtra · 18/06/2023 09:05

The one that sticks with me most is when a woman posted that her dog was well behaved during the day but misbehaved a lot on an evening. She wfh so was around during the day.

The first reply was to tell her she needed to quit her job so she could give the dog more attention during the day. No other suggestions or tips. Just an adamant post about how the problem would only be resolved if the Op quit work.
