Chip Butty/Sandwich/Roll….

I can’t even begin to describe how my husband and I have just had a conversation in which we discovered that neither of us has ever put chips in a sandwich/roll/butty….

I always thought I was a little unusual in this but he thought that was perfectly normal. I’m from Central Scotland and he is from NE Scotland.

Are we unusual to have never done the chips/bread product thing..?

Chip butty- haven't had one for ages but I did like them

I can’t believe I’m only the second person to say you need cheese too. Strong cheddar grated liberally on the bread then topped with hot chips so it melts.

They absolutely do! Try it. You will never look back.

I love bread and eat far too much of it but chips and crisps do not belong in bread.

Can't believe we now have people saying gravy too! Gravy is vile and I will never ever understand the logic of pouring it over a food that is meant to be crisp like chips and making it soggy. Yuk yuk yuk

Haha... it really is! Don't imagine it is still there... or if it is it probably serves a much more upmarket clientèle than students and delivery drivers.

For sure. Tayto cheese and onion with white hovis loaf. But has to be tayto prawn for muffins 🤣 my very grown up picnics lol

I shouldn't read threads like this when intermittent fasting! Yorkshire lass here. Mmmmmmm chip butty, as a kid on way home from swimming 😍as an adult I have to admit to the odd piece of bread creeping into meals which have chips, the hot against cold, crunch against the soft dough... yum.

Has anyone tried buttered wholemeal sliced bread, filled with mashed banana, accompanied by salt and vinegar crisps (strong ones)? Thank me later 😂

It was demolished when they retired but a new one replaced it.
