2 toilets in a bathroom - is this a thing?

Came across this pic whilst on a property search. I’ve never seen this before in my life. Is there an explanation for it?

That is weird

LorraineInSpain · 11/06/2023 16:41

Are they definitely two toilets rather than a toilet and a bidet? (Sorry, it’s a bit difficult to see from the picture on my phone)

Saschka · 11/06/2023 16:43

That is weird, and Not A Thing - who would want to sit side by side with somebody else on the loo next to them? Nobody. Maybe the MN Poo Troll.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 11/06/2023 16:48

No please don't let this be a thing! is it not a bidet?

TeaWithOatMilk · 11/06/2023 16:53

We have 2 sinks in our bathrooms, definitely not 2 toilets! 😬

Iwantcakeeveryday · 11/06/2023 16:54

two sinks, lovely, two toilets so you can sit side by side... not so lovely.

whatausername · 11/06/2023 17:11

If my partner suggested even viewing such a property I'd leave them there and then. Side by side toilets? Egads!

mynameiscalypso · 11/06/2023 17:12

It's not a thing but it should be.

mynameiscalypso · 11/06/2023 17:13

(Not so that you can go to the loo side by side but so that you and any partner have separate loos!)

PuffinsRocks · 11/06/2023 17:14

Batshittery. I can't imagine needing this unless you're toilet training twin toddlers and even then I'm not sure.

Soupsetscared · 11/06/2023 17:15

Is it one for wee and the other for poos. 🤣🤣🤣

Hadalifeonce · 11/06/2023 17:16

There is Loo in Stockholm, in a bar, which has 2 toilets.

bibbityboppityboo · 11/06/2023 17:16

Definitely weird as there's only one loo roll hanging in the middle!

UnravellingTheWorld · 11/06/2023 17:17

It's nice for couples to do things together? 😂😂😂

littleripper · 11/06/2023 17:17

Mel B had 2 loos in her bathroom - she said it was so her and her friends could go at the same time. How do I know this when I cannot remember my car registration?

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 11/06/2023 17:19

Two loos aside, that does not look like a bathroom that would be in a million pound house!

TheInterceptor · 11/06/2023 17:21

Link please!

TrafficBlocking · 11/06/2023 17:23

I showed my mum, she nonchalantly said "for people who like to go together" very seriously..... I'm lost for words😶

ApolloandDaphne · 11/06/2023 17:24

The toilets aren't even the same. That offends me more!

Ah, my kids would have loved this below the age of about 6. Very sociable toileters 🤯

gnatgnu · 11/06/2023 17:29

Looks like it might be a nursery/childminder - there is a big changing table on the wall that looks like it folds out over one of the loos - so perhaps ‘toilet training twins’ wasn’t too far off!

SageRosemary · 11/06/2023 17:32

There is a height difference between the two toilet seats. My theory is that a vertically challenged fully grown person, or a person with special needs lives in that house. So, it is for one person to use a particular toilet whilst they are the sole occupier of the bathroom. Also, if you look at the bathroom mirror, you will see what appears to be a very large changing table reflected in it.

EggInANest · 11/06/2023 17:33

I wondered if they had one on a grey water system and one on mains to use during dry spells? But no mention of an eco feature like that that would be a selling point. And surely two water systems could feed into one toilet.

One looks an older model than the other. Perhaps one partner (guess which) got fed up of skid marks, blockages etc and insisted on separate toilets? Zoflora is the first item on the chalk bard shopping list so....

One is taller than the other? We had a taller toilet installed for my Mum when she found standing up from the toilet hard. But why wouldn't you just replace one toilet? Maybe because of the child?

It is occupied by arty types, and a young child lives there. But doesn't appear to have a bedroom.

RocketIceLollie · 11/06/2023 17:36

That is odd. I even find twin basin's odd. Do you seriously brush your teeth together?! But two toilets.... absolutely baffling.
