Lego Castle. It was far too expensive and never going to happen.

I got a Lego siege tower instead, which came with two or three pieces of castle battlements, and one horse. I loved that horse!

I noticed Lego started selling a castle again not long ago, also costing a small fortune - perhaps they are targeting all the 40-50 somethings that missed out in their childhoods!

Barbie house

Eminybob · 06/06/2023 07:43

Mr Frosty for me too. I got one for the DC last Christmas. What a pile of shit. My mum always said it would be rubbish I should have taken heed.

Little People motor home.

fivetriangulartrees · 06/06/2023 07:46

A Scalextric. Trouble was, they were mains operated, which means I would certainly have been electrocuted to death, probably before I'd even got it out of the packaging.

It was strange I managed to survive the Scalextric at my friend's house. He also had a bear that changed colour when you ran it under the tap.

One of those little driveable cars
A pin art (that thing that you put your hand in and it makes a mould of it)😆

I wanted one of those jewellery boxes with the dancing ballerina. I'm pretty sure I never asked for one though. I just coveted them when I saw them at my friends houses

Gymmum82 · 06/06/2023 08:02

I also wanted a cabbage patch doll but I bought myself 2 of them when I was about 18 and now my kids play with them

I had Mr Frosty; it was crap and overrated.

I always wanted some Weebles and that toy treehouse thing.

My sister had weebles and the tree house! I was so jealous that I took her favourite weeble to school and swapped it for a pippa doll 😆

GeoffPeterson · 06/06/2023 08:09

@Spaceman101 baked beans and a Swiss roll! I’ve just watched the 80’s ad on You Tube

I too was denied a Mr Frosty as my older sister had one before my time which allegedly fell apart after a couple of days.

I always coveted the Big Yellow Tea Pot but sadly was never gifted one by Father C

Electric train set, and a set with little bricks and mortar you could build with.

bussteward · 06/06/2023 08:10

Before I even clicked I knew it would be Mr Frosty!

A Cadbury Mini Chocolate Dispenser vending machine.

A gonk.

bookworm14 · 06/06/2023 08:15

Barbie (banned in our house for being anti-feminist) and the Playmobil Victorian mansion.

JadeSeahorse · 06/06/2023 08:16

Tressy doll! (Yes, it was the 60's 😂)

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 06/06/2023 08:17

Mr Frosty, the girls head where you did makeup on it, Barbies.

I got Sindys from my aunt but my DM was super strict about anything including clothes (didn’t help my nana’s friend shoplifted baby and children’s clothes passed them to my DM who didn’t want them due to shoplifting).

fyn · 06/06/2023 08:19

I was desperate for the Playmobil Victorian Mansion House, I’ve just bought it for me my daughter!

toomuchlaundry · 06/06/2023 08:19

Girl’s world. I don’t wear make up and rarely have my hair done, I wonder if this is as a result of my deprived childhood!

I don’t remember Mr Frosty, and somehow missed it through DC’s childhood as well

I hope she likes it. I’m impressed they still make it actually - it must have been in continuous production for at least 30 years! My sister and I had lots of the Victorian furniture sets but I guess the house was out of my parents’ price range.
