What obscure tv shows do you remember watching, but no one else really watched or remembers it so you feel alone?

I have a few. I used to love watching certain shows but no one I knew watched it. So it felt like I was the only one at times.

Hex
Dollhouse
Dark Angel
Roswell (the original not the newer one)
Firefly

A kids’ TV programme in the late 80s starring Bill Odie called The Bubblegum Brigade.

Also, from school in the 80s: Dark Towers (scary), The Boy From Space (scarier) and Badgergirl. I’ve not met anyone for years who remember them (although, tbf, they’re unlikely to come up in conversation!).

FindingTheFox · 04/06/2023 16:49

@NightOwlNotEarlyBird I used to love Mork & Mindy! I watched it in my teens in the 90s so would have been repeats.

Does anyone remember the late 80s Beauty and the Beast series? My best friend and I used to go trampolining together on a Friday evening then she'd come back to mine for a sleepover or I'd go to hers, and we were allowed a can of fizzy drink and a bar of chocolate whilst watching that. Highlight of the week.

The Dream Stone. Early 90’s on CITV. Music by Mike Batt. Better than a dream was the best theme song ever. (Closely followed by the Raccoons Run with us!)

I had the Getalong Gang toy lamb too!

No one else seems to remember The New Schmoo. Was a Hanna Barbera cartoon about some sort of mystery solving shape shifting creature.

Also, a series on bbc during the school holidays called Silas. Was dubbed (badly) story about an orphan who escape a circus or similar. He was a horse acrobat I think. He was chased by various people including "the crone", who ended up getting hung on a water wheel in the last episode. Was a cheery watch!!!

winewolfhowls · 04/06/2023 16:53

Badger girl, through the dragons eye and skyhunter were all the schools series with magic magic e!

ZittiEBuoni · 04/06/2023 16:54

Loved Roswell. Think it was on at 6pm on BBC2 before Buffy? I was very invested in Michael (with the very tall hair) and Maria, but am now thinking that Michael was probably a terrible boyfriend.

Vesuviusbeats · 04/06/2023 16:57

Oh, and Woof, about a boy who would randomly turn into a dog, and then when he turned back into a boy he was always naked.

EmpressMoo · 04/06/2023 16:57

OMG Cop Rock, @Gingernaut !!!!!

Nobody has ever heard of it and when I try to explain it people look at me like I am tripping. TBF, whoever came up with the concept of a musical crime show probably was tripping. Ditto whoever bought the series from the US to show in the UK. It was so so bad, it was genius... 😂

Fernticket · 04/06/2023 16:58

The Mad Death scared 7 shades out of me!
Loved the Murder Game, and Now Get Out of That and Saffhire and Steel.
Anyone remember a couple of 70s kids shows called Nobody's House, and Midnight is a place?

SilverOrchid · 04/06/2023 17:01

Johnson & Friends, a kids programme that no one else seems to remember!

StarbucksSmarterSister · 04/06/2023 17:05

Mork & Mindy. I've only come across one other person who has seen this!

First time most of us saw Robin Williams. It was hugely popular.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/06/2023 17:05

From my dim and distant past:

"Come Back Lucy" there was a ghost (Lucy) that the children in the house could see

"The Swish of the Curtain" , I think Sarah Greene from Blue Peter was in it

"Maggie" set in Glasgow , she wanted to leave and go to University , Her parents wanted her to stay, get a job, husband and kids.

"Gentlemen and Players" I always missed this , it was on when I was travelling , on a Sunday evening, I think I saw one episode . I watched on YouTube last year and it is very dated

"The Peppermint Pig" - cannot find a whiff of it on search and no-one else remembers it

Bookist · 04/06/2023 17:05

I was obsessed with Barbapapa, I collected the books. Loved Mork & Mindy, did you know the scriptwriters just used to leave big blanks in the dialogue to let Robin Williams completely improvise?

Can I mention Three Wishes for Cinderella? It was a foreign children's series, badly dubbed, and was a retelling of the fairytale. It was dark and macabre and I loved it. Also The Singing Ringing Tree!

maddiemookins16mum · 04/06/2023 17:05

The Mole. Must be 20 odd years ago, it was great.
oh and Come Back Lucy (back in the day) and Horse in the House (also as a young teen).

I meant to continue, it must be an age thing if people don't remember it.
