What obscure tv shows do you remember watching, but no one else really watched or remembers it so you feel alone?

I have a few. I used to love watching certain shows but no one I knew watched it. So it felt like I was the only one at times.

Hex
Dollhouse
Dark Angel
Roswell (the original not the newer one)
Firefly

Mork & Mindy. I've only come across one other person who has seen this!

BreakfastClubs · 04/06/2023 16:34

boysmuminherts I'm glad that someone else remembers The Flying Doctors. I can still hear that theme tune now.

BreakfastClubs · 04/06/2023 16:35

I used to watch repeats of Mork and Mindy as a kid in the '90s!

Mork & Mindy was a staple for kids my age. 'Mork calling Orson, come in Orson'.

Really? I thought it was pretty popular.

Ultraviolet. I think it was on Channel 4 and it was about vampires.

Loved Ultraviolet.

Mine is a kid's TV show called Helping Henry, with the wonderful Jeremy Hardy as an alien disguised as a dining chair. He reported back each week to his bosses - it was hilarious but no-one else remembers it!

Tontostitis · 04/06/2023 16:36

I have Mapp & Lucia on a dodgy dvd it's brilliant! Can I add Sapphire & Steel to the obscure list please

Ihateboris · 04/06/2023 16:37

Anyone remember The Get Along Gang? It was an American animated series from the 80s. I can still remember the words to the intro. The characters were amazing (in my opinion as a 10 year old!). Happy memories 😃

Yes! I had a cuddly toy version of the lamb in roller skates.

Another S & S fan here! I watched again not so long ago and still found bits of it scary 😊

I’ve always remembered a programme that I think was called ‘Maelstrom’ although I could have spelt it wrongly. I think I remember a dolls house and it was quite creepy, but again, I’m not sure!

I remember that. It was by Colin J Bird who made The Lotus Eaters and Who Pays the Ferryman. It was a departure from his usual Greek-based thrillers.

The Flying Doctors. Does anyone remember that?

Yes! And A Country Practice.

ILookAtTheFloor · 04/06/2023 16:41

The Tribe on Channel 5. A Kiwi drama where the only people left on earth were teens and kids, they wore lots of crazy make up and had to fend for themselves in tribes. First series was good but started to get a bit odd in the later ones.
Anyone else?

StarbucksSmarterSister · 04/06/2023 16:41

I saw Ultraviolet last year.
It's on Prime or Britbox I think.

orangeflags · 04/06/2023 16:41

@BreakfastClubs Exactly the show I was going to say. With idris elba. Best vampire series ever

Also Rude Dog and The Dweebs?

Yes!! I was beginning to think it was a vivid dream... Nobody has ever heard of it. Rude Dog was very cool - either his voice or his character or both - I remember feeling a bit weird that I liked him so much! Blush

orangeflags · 04/06/2023 16:42

I've got maelstrom on dvd. It's really good

SweeeetPea · 04/06/2023 16:43

@AnElegantChaos I loved this too! I’ve got them on dvd

My brother had the clubhouse caboose and all the little characters!

At school, we used to watch a program called Through The Dragon's Eye. Looking now, it just seems to have been an educational thing, but it seemed quite sinister and frightening to a 6 year old.

Goodness, I forgot about The Tribe. The hair and make up always looked like a grown ups idea of what kids thought would be cool.

it was pretty addictive though

Loved Dragon's Eye. It was definitely a schools programme, always exciting when the teacher would wheel out the telly for Dragon' Eye, and there was one called Sky Hunter as well, which was from the 70s but repackaged for the 90s with the kids featured as adults and flashing back.

You and me. It was a kids show that had these kind of puppet lion things, two of them.

They were called Cosmo and dibs. I can still remember the theme tune...
