What obscure tv shows do you remember watching, but no one else really watched or remembers it so you feel alone?

I have a few. I used to love watching certain shows but no one I knew watched it. So it felt like I was the only one at times.

Hex
Dollhouse
Dark Angel
Roswell (the original not the newer one)
Firefly

Bonekickers.
We've got it on DVD and are researching it with the kids. It only got one series, but we enjoyed it. Easy watching, far fetched archaeology TV series.

Apart from fellow archaeologists and enthusiasts I don't know anyone who liked it (even then it was divisive 😁).

DBro and I loved Round the Twist as kids.

I also have a vague recollection of a creepy kids drama that had been dubbed and was about a boy whose smile had been stolen. I hated it though. Would have been late 80s, very early 90s maybe.

@JaneJeffer I was literally going to google to find Attachments as I remembered DW being in it but not the name!

Does anyone remember Nylon - around the same time - long distance relationship between London and NY?

@Ihavenoauthority I loved Revenge. It's on Disney plus atm.

Roger Roger - about cabbies.

Capital city - on ITV with Douglas Hodge, about city dealers

Sharky and George! It was animated and on around 5am!

Crime busters of the sea!

It was on at like 3.30pm after primary kids got home from school. I quite liked it

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 07/06/2023 00:00

Bangers and mash - kids show, two moneys living in the jungle. Loved it!

BreakfastClubs · 07/06/2023 00:03

Also I'm cheating because I watched these on video but Ewoks and Strawberry Shortcake.

blueshoes · 07/06/2023 00:25

Land of the Lost. Sleestaks were terrifying.

OooPourUsACupLove · 07/06/2023 00:28

By the Sword Divided! Always got that and the Miss Marple (Joan Hickson obvs) theme tune tangled up.

Throwing in a very obscure one... anyone remember Murun Buchstansangur?

Flustercuckoo · 07/06/2023 00:32

American Gothic. Sarah Paulson was in it.

Blake's Seven

( I have not watched any on your list OP but I like the look of it!)

I watched all of Blake’s Seven - and cried my eyes out at the end.

catskate10 · 07/06/2023 06:29

The Flame Trees of Thika, set in Kenya. I think it was on a Sunday and Holly Aird was in it who went on to be in Soldier Soldier.

Mapp and Lucia in the 1980s. I actually didn't like it much, except for Geraldine McEwan's delicious impression of a Morningside accent. It has been called 'wonderfully camp' which is what tried my patience. I watched the episodes with a kind of grim fascination, I thought at the time. And now I miss it. I don't know anyone who ever watched it or who has heard of EF Benson. I do see today that lots of the episodes are on Youtube, so...

I started watching that online once (because Geraldine McEwan and Nigel Hawthorne - ❤️❤️❤️) but didn’t like it at all, sadly.

I didn’t know it was from EF Benson novels - I know him as a writer of ghost stories, mainly the great and much-anthologised The Room in the Tower.

The Flying Doctors. Does anyone remember that?

I remember it, never watched it though.

NightOwlNotEarlyBird · 04/06/2023 16:34

Mork & Mindy. I've only come across one other person who has seen this!

That was always being quoted here!

Catsmere · 07/06/2023 07:10

The Wacky Races, Perils of Penelope Pitstop, New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - I loved the Hanna-Barbera cartoons.

FindingTheFox · 04/06/2023 16:49

@NightOwlNotEarlyBird I used to love Mork & Mindy! I watched it in my teens in the 90s so would have been repeats.

Does anyone remember the late 80s Beauty and the Beast series? My best friend and I used to go trampolining together on a Friday evening then she'd come back to mine for a sleepover or I'd go to hers, and we were allowed a can of fizzy drink and a bar of chocolate whilst watching that. Highlight of the week.

I loved that! Ron Perlman never looked so good. 😄
