What obscure tv shows do you remember watching, but no one else really watched or remembers it so you feel alone?

I have a few. I used to love watching certain shows but no one I knew watched it. So it felt like I was the only one at times.

Hex
Dollhouse
Dark Angel
Roswell (the original not the newer one)
Firefly

Press Gang anyone?

Yes but that was quite popular. With Dexter fletcher

AlwaysGinPlease · 05/06/2023 18:16

This Gem(s) - literally. I loved this but nobody I know remembers it!

Rummikub · 05/06/2023 18:19

i remember Ludwig - wasn’t that a crystal?

Thanks to pp I checked out the theme tunes to G force and Starfleet. Loved these.

Is Crystaltips obscure? Or generational?

As If. Early 00s teen soap/drama, sort of a cross between Hollyoaks and Skins.
Fun fact: the McFly song Five Colours in Her Hair was written about one of the characters.

Ooh I loved As If. Sadly not available on DVD due to all the songs in it ☹️

Press Gang anyone?

This is still my go to when I need cheering up, I have the dvds.
I feel like I spent way too much time watching telly when i was younger 😂

CurtainsForBea · 05/06/2023 19:05

I loved Sleepers with Nigel havers. About Russian spies embedded in the UK.

ZittiEBuoni · 05/06/2023 19:08

'Ooooh, Ludwig!' is still a catchphrase in this house. Kind of a mechanised egg with a Beethoven soundtrack.

tanstaafl · 05/06/2023 19:11

Anyone mentioned

Shoestring
Sapphire and Steel
Pipkins

Blake's Seven

( I have not watched any on your list OP but I like the look of it!)

@Dontlistitonfacebook
We used to have 'Blake's 7 baths' ( i.e. out in time for Blake's 7)

DeadbeatYoda · 05/06/2023 19:15

Hairbrushhandle · 04/06/2023 16:19

You and me. It was a kids show that had these kind of puppet lion things, two of them.

@Hairbrushhandle
' You and me, me and you, lots and lots for us to do'

The crime busters of the sea

That's 3 of us now!

I used to have his whistle as a ringtone back in the day.

littleburn · 05/06/2023 19:28

Captain Caveman
The Banana Splits
The Red Hand Gang

Ilovetea33 · 05/06/2023 19:28

I remember Follyfoot and its theme song "The Lightning Tree", just looked it up on YouTube (Dreams come true when you want them to, when you want them to it's up to you).
And other shows where I had a crush on one of the actors: Alias Smith and Jones (Ben Murphy), Manimal (Simon MacCorkindale) and even Early Edition (Kyle Chandler).
And The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby was quite brilliant, it starred Roger Rees and David Threlfall.

marthasmum · 05/06/2023 19:48

I remember the Nicholas Nickleby! I think it was a recording of a theatre play?? And the actor who played Smike (??) was really good.

Someone mentioned ‘A break in the sun’ which was an early teens thing I think. I remember the title and being vaguely traumatised by it but that’s all. Was it about someone running away?

Mummaluma · 05/06/2023 19:55

Young Person's Guide to Becoming a Rock Star. I just realised it's on 4od- I wonder how badly it might have aged, as it's 25 years old 😳

Radi0liverpool · 05/06/2023 20:16

What about Bric a brac?

Radi0liverpool · 05/06/2023 20:17

Jamie and his magic torch? That was fairly well known though I think

PassTheBabyPlease · 05/06/2023 20:19

I used to love Strange but True with Michael Aspel I think. Did anyone else watch it?

I loved this! It used to terrify me though 😆

PassTheBabyPlease · 05/06/2023 20:24

Same. The opening alone was terrifying but it still didn't stop me from watching it.

ButterfliesandMoths · 05/06/2023 20:26

Models Inc think it was mid 90's, had Linda Gray of Dallas fame in it and also Carrie Anne Moss

woodhill · 05/06/2023 20:43

We'll meet again with Susannah York

Lipstick on your collar with Ewan Macgregor and Douglas Henshall

DeadbeatYoda · 05/06/2023 20:45

Loved flambards, we also watched 'how we used to live' at school, so many brilliant late 70's / early 80's shows. I haven't yet seen anyone mention:

Onedin line
The Flashing Blade ( overdubbed French thing, I think, very funny)
Prisoner cell block H
Crossroads
Tomorrow's world
