What obscure tv shows do you remember watching, but no one else really watched or remembers it so you feel alone?

I have a few. I used to love watching certain shows but no one I knew watched it. So it felt like I was the only one at times.

Hex
Dollhouse
Dark Angel
Roswell (the original not the newer one)
Firefly

I used to love Dappledown Farm. Early 90s when DS was a baby and there was nothing else on TV at 6am. Brilliantly unrehearsed.

chickensaresafehere · 05/06/2023 09:51

Eerie Indiana anyone?

angelzaft · 05/06/2023 09:53

Programme in the early 2000's where the parents would go away and the kid would get to do whatever they wanted to the house.

I remember a theme park with proper rides, all inside a tiny 2/3 bed semi

A burger bar for a kitchen

A train track which ran through the walls of the house to deliver food from one room to another

Why did parents do this!?!

BreakfastClubs · 05/06/2023 09:58

I loved Eerie Indiana.

Celestiel · 05/06/2023 10:01

The Ink Theif - with Toyah Wilcox and Richard O'Brien

RomanMum · 05/06/2023 10:38

MaudGonneOutForChips · 05/06/2023 08:35

Yes! I had a major crush on Dusty (inexplicably) and could sing you the theme song without faltering, @Saucery!

Dusty was my first crush, before I even knew what a crush was Grin

Anyone remember Wish me Luck? Bbc Sunday evening drama, World War 2? Used to watch it with my mum

Yes “Wish me Luck”
wish me luck as you wave me goodbye song is in my head now. Loved it!

tatteddear · 05/06/2023 09:04

The Lakes. I absolutely loved it. Young John Simm. The guy who worked in the kitchen who used to narrate everything that was going on out loud third person.
No one I know even remembers it!

I remember this!

I remember El Dorado. Wasn't it a soap they made to compete with neighbours or something but set in Spain. It was only 1 season before they canned it?

Yes it was so bad it was good, tbf, they didn't give it long enough I remember it was just setting I get interesting when they canned,it.

FreyaBentos · 05/06/2023 11:59

Armchair Thriller used to terrify me!!

Laverne and Shirley (was possibly a Happy Days spin-off?)

Hectors House.. kids tv just before the 6pm news

Clapperboard… dull kids show about films

louderthan · 05/06/2023 12:10

As If. Early 00s teen soap/drama, sort of a cross between Hollyoaks and Skins.
Fun fact: the McFly song Five Colours in Her Hair was written about one of the characters.

@Dontlistitonfacebook

I LOVED Blake's Seven!

Also Garth Marenghi.

The thing I love which no- one has ever watched is Phoneshop.

Phone shop was great! 'A OWL?!'

FartNRoses · 05/06/2023 12:11

@ZittiEBuoni I remember Automan. My bro and I loved that!

Anyone remember Streetfighter!? I think it alternated with Knightrider on Saturdays.

Land of the Giants on a Sunday morning?

Deathraystare · 05/06/2023 12:33

Next of Kin - a retired couple take in their young relatives. I think Penelope Keith was in it

I remember that! She made tea for them. One was vegetarian so she removed the burger and another did not like something being a certain shape so she cut it differently.

I felt sorry for the couple as I think they were retired recently and I think were going on a cruise!

Loved Topogigio!

Going round the twist! Who remembers that?

No real recollection of it but a theme tune just began in my brain!! Was it a spooky ghost thing in a family or something?

Monkey on BBC2 circa 1980? Absolutely brilliant bonkers Japanese production.

I don't know if this is true but I read they lost the sound or something to the original Japanese programme ,so they made up.stories of what they thought was going on and dubbed in actors voices !
might have added to the general Bonkerness( is that a word of it )

FatOaf · 05/06/2023 13:16

Mapp and Lucia in the 1980s

I loved that. Nigel Hawthorne was outrageous.

Does anyone remember Chance in a Million (Simon Callow & Brenda Blethyn as a kind of up-market Frank & Betty Spencer)? Shelley (Hywel Bennett)? Agony (Maureen Lipman)?

Verv · 05/06/2023 13:20

Nobody seems to remember Yellowthread Street with a young Clive Owen.
I watched it as an early teen and loved it.

AnElegantChaos · 05/06/2023 13:21

@FatOaf Yup, Simon Callow was brilliant in it.

Ihateboris · 05/06/2023 13:32

Does anyone remember The Thorn Birds with Richard Chamberlain? Pretty racy for the 80s.

Also, Tales of the Unexpected?

WhatWouldHopperDo · 05/06/2023 13:32

I have skim read the thread and haven't seen these mentioned but apologies if I missed it.

1 - Barnaby the Bear - from the 70s when I was very small. I think it was French and dubbed. I have never met anyone else who remembers or has heard of it. I have a very strong memory of it. Picture below.

2 - The Red Hand Gang

CoffeeandCakeNow · 05/06/2023 13:37

Early Edition in the mid 90's! No one I've spoken to about it remembers it. I used to watch it with my DGM every Saturday.
A man received the newspaper a day early every day, and he had to choose what disasters to prevent.
