What obscure tv shows do you remember watching, but no one else really watched or remembers it so you feel alone?

I have a few. I used to love watching certain shows but no one I knew watched it. So it felt like I was the only one at times.

Hex
Dollhouse
Dark Angel
Roswell (the original not the newer one)
Firefly

Mr Ben was recently available on BritBox. Da loves it as did I as a child. Mr Ben was ahead of his time now the works is full of identity nonsense. All he had to do was put on the costume and he was what he was dressing up as. Magic! Sadly for identify woo-ers that doesn't happen in the real world.

Hardly obscure tv though. Mysterious cities of gold is my all time favourite childrens tv show. Pole position was great too. Neither obscure.

@ALongHardWinter we must be a similar age I loved the Double Deckers

TrashyPanda · 04/06/2023 22:43

Pogles Wood - a wee boy and a squirrel

Daktari - with Clarence the cross-eyed lion

the trilogy that starts with the Beiderbecke Affair

a Very Peculiar Practice

Children's drama called Aliens in the Family, never met anyone else who remembers it.

I loved Blake's 7 too, had the best ending to any TV series. We also had a few homemade teleport bracelets thanks to Blue Peter!

I loved Aliens in the Family.

No one seems to remember my mirror one Sad

One scene I remember is the girl cut her leg and got a really bad infection. Of course in those times, it was treated with leeches. The boys went through the mirror and helped save her life

I remember that one. Was there something about a clock and could they only go through at a certain time? Was it maybe called Tom's midnight garden?

JimnJoyce · 04/06/2023 22:50

@TrashyPanda i loved Robinson Crusoe and am humming the theme tune now

The Beiderbecke Trilogy was fantastic! My parents introduced me to it and I watched it when I was about 15/16. Must have been repeated as I was at primary school when it started. I loved the way the title of each episode was the first spoken line. I see it’s available on DVD, might treat myself

AnElegantChaos · 04/06/2023 22:50

@RainBow725 Oh wow I didn't realise it was on Prime! I've always wanted to watch it again. Did it seem dated?

Longwhiskers · 04/06/2023 22:53

Roger Ramjet (80s cartoon)
Going bananas (80s tv show from the US).

Banana Splits
Battle of the Planets
Digby the Biggest Dog in the World

I absolutely loved Battle of the Planets!

RainBow725 · 04/06/2023 22:58

@AnElegantChaos - a bit dated I suppose but I watched it with nostalgic glasses on so I really didn't mind. It was still a good watch.

TrashyPanda · 04/06/2023 22:58

I would love to watch St Elsewhere and Picket Fences again.

Surely everyone of a certain age watched Blake’s Seven 😁 (and possibly made the teleport bracelet from blue Peter ahem)

tales of the gold monkey - as far as I can tell it must have been beamed privately & directly into my family TV has no one has ever heard of it

Tales of the Golden Monkey was fantastic!

Garth Marenghi's darkplace! Never met anyone who's heard of it

Sapphire & Steel

MrsScrubbingbrush · 04/06/2023 23:02

Riley, Ace of Spies starring a very young and very good looking Sam Neill. It had a haunting opening sequence and title music by Shostakovich.

Rummikub · 04/06/2023 23:05

Everyone I knew loved sapphire and steel.

I still remember the final scene. They are trapped in a room in space. Joanna lumley and David mccallum.

I loved Man from UNCLE too but that’s not obscure.

I remember The Tomorrow people too. One of the first sci fi series I watched.

JimnJoyce · 04/06/2023 23:06

@SteamFunk was it Paper Play? itsy and bitsy were spiders

behaveasbefitsthesituationwillyas · 04/06/2023 23:06

what was the show with the man saying 'I am not a number, I am a free man'? It's probably too famous to be truly obscure but I can't remember it. I am awful at show names.

MrsSchrute · 04/06/2023 16:19

Anyone remember Mulberry?

It was about a guy who's father was Death and his mother was Springtime. Was on the BBC. Love it!

Yes! I bought the DVDs a few years back and was pleased it was still as lovely as I remembered. Shame the final series was never made.

hotsummerlovin · 04/06/2023 23:08

Can anyone remember a programme called Growing rich? Possibly early 90s.

JimnJoyce · 04/06/2023 23:11

@ImpromptuGathering it was called Handful of Songs

behaveasbefitsthesituationwillyas · 04/06/2023 23:11

Another 70s one - Why Don't You (justswitchoffyourtelevisionsetandgoanddosomethinglessboringinstead)

monicagellerbing · 04/06/2023 17:19

So Haunt Me in the very early nineties! Sit com about a woman who died choking on a chicken or fish bone I can't remember which, then she haunts the house and a new family move in. I remember loving it as a small kid but nobody ever remembers it!

My So Called Life
Hex
Charmed
Banshee
Let The Blood Run Free

I loved So Haunt Me. The end if tye first episode with the hand catching the ball was very clever.

Does anyone remember a 90s post-apocalyptic BBC series about a group of people travelling across the UK? It ended with a UFO landing, with rather spoilt it for me.
