What obscure tv shows do you remember watching, but no one else really watched or remembers it so you feel alone?

I have a few. I used to love watching certain shows but no one I knew watched it. So it felt like I was the only one at times.

Hex
Dollhouse
Dark Angel
Roswell (the original not the newer one)
Firefly

Oh I loved that!

I have the boardgame. My whole family used to love it! Watched Knightmare Live at the Birmingham Games Expo too.

Has anyone mentioned Adam Adamant or Trapdoor yet?

Space: Above and Beyond. With James Morrison in a black flying suit as Col TC McQueen. The final episode was devastating because I think they already knew it wouldn't have a second.

Boom Town. Love Donny Wahlberg and Neal McDonagh.

Loved Firefly as well. The film is brilliant. Except for Wash. 🥺

behaveasbefitsthesituationwillyas · 04/06/2023 21:40

Anyone remember a show called 'The Red Hand Gang', from the 70s? It was about a gang of child detectives. Loved it!

TheLemon · 04/06/2023 21:40

Mysterious Cities of Gold (better theme tune than actual show which never bloody ended)

The Odyssey - a kid in a coma hallucinates a journey and casts his real life friends in fantasy roles (another never ending one, shown on weekend mornings).

YY to Portland Bill, also Cockleshell Bay, Gran and Bertha, Charlie Chalk.

I have a vague recollection of an Aussie children's TV show about kids in a care home. And I think it was called 'Home' or 'House'. I remember it was really good! And the tune went something "home, home, home, on the other side" - or something like that. Would like to see that again. No one else seems to have heard of it.

This was Betty's Bunch!!!

Radi0liverpool · 04/06/2023 21:41

Oh actually the theme tune sounds working

Radi0liverpool · 04/06/2023 21:41

behaveasbefitsthesituationwillyas · 04/06/2023 21:44

Anyone remember Marmalade Atkins from the 1980s! I used to love her and the way she dressed, all punky and rebellious.

Robin Williams!

Not a series but a serial: Crime and gave a view from the criminals POV, but it came close to glorifying crime. BBC I think discontinued it before the last episode.
Criminal Lead character was called David? Hogg.
He had 3 'soldiers' one of them had big Afro hippie hair. but cut it to an almost normal style midway.
It was before Budgie.

Big Breadwinner Hog. Very violent.

Children of Fire Mountain. I loved the theme tune so much.

Ah I think this is what I'm thinking of!

Mummaluma · 04/06/2023 21:49

@Zoologydragon there was a weird spin off late night channel 4 show by the same people. All weird marching cats etc

@monicagellerbing Yes to So HauntMe.Not sure it would have aged well- iirc, the ghost was a Jewish stereotype (I seem to recall a lot of 'Oy vey')

philautia · 04/06/2023 21:49

Finally I have somewhere to put this - warning...I do not know the name of the show. Probably around 30 years ago there was kind of a crime drama / one off that I saw by accident due to being poorly off school.

It was set in the 80s about two 'criminals' who were driving around trying to rob people, someone called one of them a "croc" (no idea), that same person ended up stopping to help an elderly lady who actually was one of the criminals in disguise. Then the show ended. It obviously had an effect on me as I still remember it now decades on.

Another one I've thought of is Codename Icarus.

I remember that, but missed the last episode due to going out to a stage show.

The Tribe on Channel 5. A Kiwi drama where the only people left on earth were teens and kids, they wore lots of crazy make up and had to fend for themselves in tribes. First series was good but started to get a bit odd in the later ones.
Anyone else?

Yeah I used to watch this at my Granny's on a Saturday

Soubriquet · 04/06/2023 16:52

Going round the twist! Who remembers that?

Loved this! The Robinsons I think?
